Team Spotlight: Frederick Douglass
<p>Frederick Douglass is among the top 5 volleyball teams in Region 11.</p>
<p>Entering the final week of the 2021 high school volleyball regular season, Frederick Douglass was ranked fourth in the Region 11 Top 5 Poll. An experienced team, Frederick Douglass started the final week of the 2021 high school volleyball regular season ranked 18th in the state.</p>
<p>Frederick Douglass features several talented players. </p>
<p>Here are three Frederick Douglass players to watch. </p>
<p><strong>Kat Forish</strong> (Sr., Outside Hitter): A standout on the left side of the net, Forish possesses solid jumping ability and excels as a hitter. Forish is athletic and adjusts well to sets coming from any location. Able to deliver from both the front row and the back row, Forish is a go-to hitter. A consistent passer, Forish produces in several categories frequently. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="68145" first="Jamison" last="Gordon"]</strong> (Jr., Setter): A vocal leader with strong communication skills, Gordon runs the offense successfully. Gordon directs the offense consistently and makes quick decisions on the court routinely. Defensively, Gordon digs and blocks well. A productive setter, Gordon has displayed the ability to produce from both the back row and the front row. </p>
<p><strong>Peyon Hollon</strong> (Jr., LIbero/Defensive Specialist): A versatile player, Hollon possesses solid defensive skills and passing skills. Hollon is a productive back row hitter who turns the first touch into a solid pass to the setter regularly. Athletic, Hollon covers the court extensively and can play in the front row. </p>
