The class of 2022 has put in their hard work, sweat and tears into their last four years. Some athletes I have had the honor to watch and see progress and others I am just now getting to understand and see their talents.
Amanda Holsen Amanda Holsen 5'11" | OH Stevenson | 2022 State #180 Nation IL : Committed/Columbia University
Holsen is one of the many athletes that will have a hold on the sport of volleyball. Holsen is a very talented athlete and to be able to watch her in action is something to see. The 5’11 OH is a threat to anyone she comes across with the strong swing that she has. Her ability to work well with her setter and set up a strong and powerful swing is impressive, as she is consistent with her form techniques. I have had the honor to see Holsen play in several games and she managed to impress me each time, outshining herself the previous time. Columbia has a talent player on their hands and I hope she continues to do well.
Katie Hurta Katie Hurta 6'0" | S Nazareth | 2022 State #14 Nation IL : Committed/Indiana University
Hurta is the definition of a do it all athlete. She can literally do it all. The 6’ setter is already a sight to see, when it comes to her height and ability to move confidently on the court. Hurta has a soft touch when it comes to setting the ball, but what strands out the most about Hurta was her ability to set well with a fair rotation of hitters and able to work confidently with all of her teammates. Hurta has been amazing to watch on the court, with her ability to set, swing and get into the floor when she had too.
Rylen Reid Rylen Reid 6'0" | OH Fremd | 2022 State #128 Nation IL : Committed/Florida Golf Coast University
The 6’ OH is a very talented and defensive athlete when it comes to switching off her personality from her private life to her life on the court. Reid is a very strong and dependable athlete when it comes to making sure that she is in the position to score for her team. Reid’s talents expand more from just being able to hit a ball; She holds a strong swing and is very swift when it comes to her movement on the court. Fundamentals, foundation and skill set is not a challenge for Reid and she has managed to progress so well, she has been deemed a rising elite athlete.
Chelsea Thorpe Chelsea Thorpe OH Whitney Young | 2022 State #55 Nation IL : Committed/The Ohio State University
Thorpe is a very strong athlete when it comes to her talents that she puts onto display when she steps foot out onto the court. Thorpe has a very impressive swing and is not afraid to take a hit onto the ball, making sure she gains the point for her team. With a strong foundation and solid fundamentals, Thorpes transition to the Buckeyes shouldn’t be as difficult and I am excited to see the progress she makes during her time at Ohio State.
Jordan Walker Jordan Walker RS Whitney Young | 2022 State IL : Committed/Cornell University
The RS has been one to watch and I am honored to have the opportunity to see Walker play. She is a very strong and consistent team player when it comes to her ability to step out onto the court and make a statement though her athletic ability. She is a team player and has a strong foundation when it comes to putting her skill set onto the floor whenever she steps foot out onto the court. Walker is a very resilient and dependable player and she is going to be a great addition to Cornell’s team.
