Three 2025 15th Region Defensive Specialists On the Rise
<p>Several talented freshmen, some of whom stood out defensively, were on the court contributing for 15th Region teams throughout the 2021 high school volleyball season. </p>
<p>The old adage "defense wins championships" could apply to numerous Kentucky high school volleyball programs, some of which compete in the 15th Region. </p>
<p>Here are three 2025 15th Region defensive specialists on the rise. </p>
<p><strong>Gabriella Damron</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist for East Ridge High School. Damron, who digs and pursues well from the defensive specialist position, was a reliable contributor for East Ridge throughout her freshman season. Quick, Damron covers the court thoroughly. </p>
<p><strong>Savannah Fields</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist for Belfry High School. Fields flourished at her position as a freshman, delivering for Belfry throughout the prep volleyball campaign. Athletic, Fields is a productive back row hitter who has displayed the ability to deliver from various parts of the court.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="159344" first="Christian" last="Howell"]</strong> is a freshman defensive specialist for Betsy Layne High School. Howell, who possesses solid defensive skills and passing skills, enjoyed a breakout season for Betsy Layne as a freshman. An experienced high school volleyball player, Howell excels at ball control and passing. </p>
