With the end of the high school season comes the coronation of special teams getting hot at the exact right times. In the case of class 3A, it was more a celebration of consistency, timely wins, and a drive to settle unfinished business. Here are the teams that played in the 3A title match and the players that made a difference.

#1 Brebeuf (32-3) def. #3 Bellmont (30-6), 3-2 (25-19, 25-22, 22-25, 23-25, 15-13)

It happened again. Brebeuf went up two sets to none in the state title match. This time, however, the Braves from the north side of Indianapolis finally finished the job, with an epic fifth set for extra measure. Sydney Robinson (’23, 5-8 OH) led all attackers in all classes with 27 kills in the title match. With six starters returning, watching [player_tooltip player_id="110498" first="Lola" last="Schumacher"] (’24, 5-5 DS/L) do her thing was special. She finished with 36 digs, 4 assists and 2 aces. Probably the most impressive of this bunch of Braves was [player_tooltip player_id="85847" first="Maddie" last="Siegel"] (’22, 5-11 OH), who played all five sets in the front row and added 11 kills while playing with torn ligaments in her foot. It only seemed fitting that Maddie had the kill that ended the match.

Bellmont had its big-timers show up as well. [player_tooltip player_id="110518" first="Delaney" last="Lawson"] (’24, 6-2 OH) brought size and strength to the tune of 19 kills, 4 blocks and 4 digs. [player_tooltip player_id="92612" first="Megan" last="Saalfrank"] (’22, 5-11 MB, IU-Kokomo commit) added 16 kills, hitting nearly .300 in her last high school match. Libero [player_tooltip player_id="92606" first="Paige" last="Busick"] (’22, 5-4 DS/L, Ball State commit) scooped 28 digs, had 5 assists and added another 3 aces.
