Pewaukee High School has been working its way up in the high school volleyball ranks for quite some time. And this past season they had a breakthrough! They became regional champs (advancing to sectionals) for the first time in 22 years and only the 8th time in school history. They followed up a 2016 Woodland Conference Championship with one in 2017 defeating Greendale in the final.

Pewaukee High School’s strong team and coaching set themselves up for what is sure to be a very exciting season in 2018. They graduated three seniors this year and are looking to some key returning players for leadership and to provide fluidity and strength in the team dynamic.

Hannah Seibert (Outside Hitter, Class of 2019) was named to 1st team all conference in 2017, but she is no stranger to conference titles, being named second team all conference in 2016 and honorable mention in 2015. She has a career total of 607 kills with racking up 270 of them in the 2017 season alone. Hannah has a hitting average of 33%. She rounds out her amazing volleyball of skills by adding 39 blocks, 122 digs, and 16 aces to her 2017 season. Hannah has made a major impact on the team throughout her time, and is sure to do so in her senior season this coming fall.

Hailey Boelter-Eberhardt (Setter, Class of 2021) was named all conference honorable mention her freshman year. She was a starting varsity setter her freshman year and had 424 assists and 131 digs. Her dynamic with her sister, senior Kaitlyn Boelter-Eberhardt, was quite the weapon for the Pirate’s making many connections for the kill. Hailey was key in running the offense and being an on court leader.

Elsa Sheperd (Middle, Class of 2021) was a huge asset her first year playing for the Pirates. She contributed 49 kills and 22 blocks, with 5 of those blocks happening during their sectional semi-final match. Elsa was a great asset to the team in 2016 and coaches look forward to her continued development as a leader and player for the team.

Ally Longden (Setter/DS, Class of 2021) was a varsity player as a freshman who helped the team in both setting and as a defensive specialist. Her ability to play multiple positions well and with confidence was consistency that the team thrived upon. She had 127 assists and 97 digs. Her serve receive truly seemed to be her calling with only 8 errors in over 120 serve receptions. Ally was a large player in the success of the 2017 team and will be a great asset to the 2018 team as well.

Jordan Berglin (Middle, Class of 2021) was the most improved player on the varsity team in 2017. She was a dynamic player in the front row, starting at right side and progressing into the middle position. Her strength in the front row developed greatly over the season and ended with a total of 71 kills and 42 blocks. Her talent was truly showcased during a five set match with Kettle Moraine Lutheran where she had four block and the match winning kill.

The Pirates are sure to come back strong and ready to go setting their sights on a 3-peat in conference, winning their home tournament, the Pirate Invite, and getting to the sectional finals. This young team has set themselves up for success, and are sure to have a great 2018 season.
