Final Class of 2018 Player Rankings #2 – Kristin Lux

<p>It’s officially summer time, and with that, it’s time to send off our 2018 players with the final rankings of their high school careers.</p>
<p>We’ve updated the Class of 2018 rankings now that their senior years of high school – and club volleyball – are over. Each day we will release more rankings until we get to the top.</p>
<p>For now, here is the player that finished #2. Congrats and best of luck in the future! Thanks for all you did to make high school volleyball in Nebraska so amazing!</p>
<p><strong>#2 – Kristin Lux, 6'2, OH, North Bend (Nebraska Juniors) - committed to West Virginia</strong></p>
<p>When you look at all the traits that make a big-time college recruit in volleyball, Lux checks all the boxes.</p>
<p>The standout from North Bend had one of the top two or three attack heights in the state thanks to her tremendous leaping ability and knack for making contact at the height of her jumps. She is quick at the net and possesses incredible timing and is also a plus, plus defender, so it's no wonder she has a chance to make an immediate impact at West Virginia as a freshman.</p>
<p>Lux has also proven the ability to overcome adversity during her high school career. Early in the club season of 2017, Lux suffered a severely broken left arm in an on-court collision with a teammate as both dove to the floor for a ball. Coaches from West Virginia had flow into Lincoln for that tournament and only got to watch her for a handful of points before the injury, but the Mountaineers never flinched and landed one of the best players in the Midwest. </p>
<p>Individual stats aren't available for North Bend, but Lux is the first player from the school to ever top the 1,000 career kills mark and - more importantly - led the Tigers to consecutive trips to the state tournament her final two years, ending a drought of 19 years without a trip to state for North Bend. The team finished 4th in 2017. </p>
<p>"West Virginia University is the perfect opportunity for me to continue my passion as a volleyball player in a place that feels like home," Lux said. "I wanted to go somewhere that not only pushed me, but made me love the game more than I already do."</p>
