They’re the biggest kids in the gym and they wouldn’t be what some may say "Gentle giants". Walls of concrete and the power to dent a floor, you better steer clear.

The best of the best in the 2024 class was on full display at Rock N Rumble. These are the players that can ruin anyone’s day, and it’s a blast to watch.

These athletes know how to do it best. Here are 8 towers in the middle at Rock N Rumble.

Meghan Clifford (2024) | 6’2 MB | VolleyFX

She brings the thunder AND the lightning. Meghan Clifford made quite the impression on many at Rock N Rumble. One of the many shining stars on this VolleyFX team, Clifford is a game-changer. Her swings pack a punch and that block was impossible to get around. Clifford was one of the most complete middle blockers in the 16s division.
[caption id="attachment_153133" align="alignright" width="238"] [player_tooltip player_id="110490" first="Taylor" last="Lewis"][/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="110490" first="Taylor" last="Lewis"] (2024) | 6’1 OH/MB | Munciana

You weren’t seeing every middle making the type of plays [player_tooltip player_id="110490" first="Taylor" last="Lewis"] did. Listed as an outside hitter and middle blocker, Lewis spent most the weekend in the middle, and impressively so. She’s a smooth attacker that can get on a ball hard and fast! Lewis can hammer as hard as anyone else, but she was also pulling out the clever trick shots all over.

[player_tooltip player_id="110282" first="Mallory" last="Bohl"] (2024) | 6’3 MB | Legacy

She’s one of the top rated players in the 2024 class and she further proved why at Rock N Rumble. [player_tooltip player_id="110282" first="Mallory" last="Bohl"] and all her glory was on full display. Bohl is one of the most mechanically sound blockers in the 16s division this season. She puts up a wall and not many are allowed past. Bohl boasts some pretty impressive court vision with her offense as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="110315" first="Avry" last="Nelson"] (2024) | 6’3 MB | L2

L2 may be one of the hottest newbies in the club scene and its for their depth across all positions. These L2 middles are a 1-2 combination that made a splash. [player_tooltip player_id="110315" first="Avry" last="Nelson"] was one half of this duo. Nelson is big and she has an even bigger reach. Nelson can cut off a large chunk of the scoring avenue for attackers and her offense was promising throughout the tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id="110316" first="Alison" last="Parachek"] (2024) | 6’2 MB | L2

Don’t think the pressure’s off when Nelson walks off, here comes [player_tooltip player_id="110316" first="Alison" last="Parachek"] to finish the job. Parachek is a new name I saw this weekend and she really made an impression. Like the rest, her block is commendable, but it’s her offense that was pretty striking. Parachek is comfortable running many different routes with great scoring success.

[embed]https://x.com/LineShotVBall/status/1482939086293843970?s=20[/embed]

Angelina Fitzharris (2024) | 6’0 MB | VolleyFX

Another key player for the VolleyFX squad, right alongside Clifford, Angelina Fitzharris was a presence to take note of. A constant force on the block, if she wasn’t terminating, her block made the attacks like free balls for her defenders. Easy. Throughout the weekend, Fitzharris showed signs of excellence in her offensive side as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="128187" first="Torii" last="Starks"] (2024) | 6’3 MB | KIVA

This blocker is all up in your business and she’s shutting it down. [player_tooltip player_id="128187" first="Torii" last="Starks"] was a consistent net presence all weekend long. When she was on, she was a force to be reckoned with. Starks moves well laterally on defense and with more offensive development, Starks is a player that could be a true terror.

Aleicea Watson (2024) | 5’9 MB | KIVA

You may say she’s small but just wait until you play against her. Still saying that? Aleicea Watson has the chops it takes to go toe-to-toe with the big girls and she does it well. Watson has a formidable block that can contend with the best and her attack is fast! In all facets of the game, Watson is explosive and dominating.
