Recruiting 2022s: Mizuno Showcase 18s Preview

I got an email today from a coach looking to finish out their 2022 recruiting class, so I thought I'd put together a little recruiting guide for those looking for those final 2022s at the Mizuno Showcase this weekend. Power Pool A Kokoro 18-1s will certainly be looking to make a big statement on this weekend. With commits to a variety of college levels, Kokoro has a little something for everyone, and one of their top available yet is [player_tooltip player_id="81268" first="Hope" last="Baillargeon"] (5'11 – Middle Blocker – Somerset-WI). They have a second middle who is also uncommitted, so if you are still in the market for middles, you may want to check out courts 1 and 2 on Friday morning to catch [player_tooltip player_id="72785" first="Jada" last="Nunn"] (5'10 – Woodbury-MN) in action. Pool A Keep an eye out for MN North 18-1 in this pool after they've had nice showings at the Big City Luau (3rd in 18 Premier Division) and the NorthStar Presidents' Day Challenge 2 (1st in 18 Premier). This team has several athletes who I look forward to seeing this weekend, including the uncommitted [player_tooltip player_id="72820" first="Payton" last="Rodberg"] (5'10 – Outside Hitter – Proctor-MN). Pool C I will be able to expand our scope of club volleyball knowledge among the multiple states being represented this weekend! RVA 18 Pink is making the trip from Southeast Wisconsin and will provide an opportunity for some really intense match-ups. Get used to the name [player_tooltip player_id="81302" first="Madeline" last="Barton"] (Outside Hitter – Brookfield-East) because we'll see a lot more from her in the future. Pool D This squad is one to be reckoned with because they've been really close to winning it all a few times already this season. I can guarantee Madtown 181 National is hungry for a big win after taking 2nd last weekend at the Badger Region Qualifier and 2nd at the Sky High President's Day 2-Day Classic. They have some big commits, but they've also got some talent still looking such as [player_tooltip player_id="122329" first="Lauren" last="Hazelett"] (5'7 – Libero – Edgewood). Crossfire 18-1 is joining the battle from Minnesota. One of the key pieces for them is [player_tooltip player_id="31578" first="Abigail" last="Heinrich"] (5'9 – Setter – West Lutheran-MN). This weekend will definitely be a great test for this squad. Pool E This will be my first chance to get a live look at SMV 18-1 Black this year. It's a roster packed with potential, and after a successful high school season, [player_tooltip player_id="72052" first="Jaci" last="Winchell"] (5'8 – Setter – Cannon Falls-MN) will be one that you really need to watch. One of Winchell's high-powered weapons will be [player_tooltip player_id="84524" first="Leah" last="Berg"] (5'11 – Outside Hitter – Kenyon Wanamingo-MN). The libero position suites her, and she has really grown in the role. You definitely don't want to overlook Impact 18 National. They play with a lot of grit and ball control. This is a pretty stacked pool with uncommitted players like [player_tooltip player_id="117354" first="Mickenzi" last="Benter"] (5'9 – Setter/Right Side Hitter – Fox Valley Lutheran-WI) Pool H Of course, VHawk Xtreme 18 Adidas has some college commits on their roster, but you really need to keep an eye out for a little defensive fireball when they take the court.
