SCVA 18s Regional Bid Tournament: Standout Setters
<p>IRVINE - Momentous hosted another great weekend of volleyball as teams fought for a spot at nationals in Phoenix, Arizona next month. There were seven regional bids at stake (2 National, 3 American, 2 Freedom) in the tournament. Teams played pools in the morning on day one with challenge matches for the top teams out of the pools, while day two was bracket playoffs. With so much volleyball going on, it was an opportunity for several setters to shine on the court. Here are some setters that stood out over the weekend at the SCVA 18s Regional Bid Tournament.</p>
<p>Cassandra Paul, Beach Cities 18-Smack<br />
This 5-1 system setter displays a lot of leadership ability. She directs her team effectively and is a vocal leader. She distributes the ball well and has a lot of hustle.</p>
<p>Jordan Packer, HBC - The Dark Side<br />
This lefty is a fierce competitor with great hands who plays defense well and is an offensive threat to opponents. She also has a wicked jump serve.</p>

This setter is very aggressive offensively, has a good ability to push the ball out to the pins, and moves all over the court. She a big part of the reason her team was able to get to the gold bracket.</p>
<p>Luci Hill, Setter, A4 18-Randy<br />
This setter sets from the back row in a 6-2 system. She distributes the ball well, puts up hittable balls, and sets reverse flow with ease.</p>
<p>Rilee Read, 5’9” Setter, T-Street Las Vegas 18-April<br />
A setter with a very positive leadership style, she sets from the back row and is an attacker in the front row. She is committed to Cal State Monterey Bay.</p>
<p>Abigail Terbest, Setter, SDVBC 18-Lindsey<br />
This setter has a good connection with the middle and can run quicks and back sets very smoothly. She is very consistent with the location of her sets.</p>
