I had the pleasure of watching many players who play in the Chesapeake region, especially those who play for teams located in Northern Virginia. In this article, I highlight some of the players I believe have improved throughout the season and have had a big impact on their teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='181097' first='Safi' last='Hampton'] - 6'1 - Outside Hitter - Metro 17 travel - UNC

Safi proves to be the best player in her class in the state of Virginia. The North Carolina (UNC) commit shows a lot of versatility in her game. She relies on her vertical, which allows her to bounce the ball without an issue. Safi had a fantastic performance during USA Nationals and was consistent throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='181098' first='Grace' last='Maria'] - 6'2” - Outside Hitter - VA Juniors 17 - UConn

Grace is one of the top players who is consistent in her game throughout the season. The six rotation outside hitter was able to gain multiple offers to continue her game at the collegiate level. Grace chose to commit to UConn and play in the Big East. She can play either side easily. She is very consistent in her passing with great ball control. Her athleticism and size allows her to cover more court both in passing or defense. Grace is a type of player that can fit into any team and will be a great addition to UConn.

[player_tooltip player_id='181185' first='Brielle' last='Kemavor'] - 6'5" - Middle - Metro 17 Travel - BYU

Brielle is one of the more dominating middles I have watched. Her versatility allows her to dominate the net offensively and defensively. Brielle has more room to grow as a volleyball player and I know she will be a great addition to BYU

Rylah Robinson - 5”10 - Outside Hitter - Paramount 17

Rylah helped lead her team to success and caused a lot of problems for her opponents. She has a good velocity on the ball, which allows her to determine the point. Rylah was voted to the All-Tournament team for the USA Nationals in the National Division.

[player_tooltip player_id='181177' first='Madison' last='Koeller'] - 6"1' - Setter - Virginia Elite 17 - Bryant University

Madison has had a tremendous impact on her team. She led her team to a lot of successful outcomes at tournaments. She is known for running a quick offensive tempo and is extremely aggressive at the net. Bryant took a great player who is going to be a great addition to their team. I'm looking forward to watching Madison next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='181186' first='Nala' last='Cornegy'] - 6'3 - Middle Hitter - Virginia Elite 17- University of Virginia

Nala has made a lot of improvement throughout the season. The 6'3 with an impressive vertical touch 10'2 approach is very dynamic at the net. Through her mid-season, many college coaches were attracted by her games and she was getting a lot of interest from colleges. After AAU Nationals, she decided to commit to UVA. Nala is one of the middles that can contribute in her first year in college. She has been improving since the beginning of the season and I cannot wait to see how she will look by the end of her senior year of high school.

[player_tooltip player_id='181179' first='Chloe' last='Wilmot'] - 5”10' - Setter - Paramount 17 - Duquesne

Chloe is a setter who has improved tremendously. Wilmot ran the show and touched every single ball, no matter where it was in the court. Her setting IQ is high and she has the ability to manage the game during difficult moments. Chloe will be a great addition at Duquesne

[player_tooltip player_id='209170' first='Corinne' last='Bonamassa'] - 5”10 - Outside Hitter - Loudon Elite
Corinne is a six rotation player and she was the key player on her team. Her team relied on her in the back row to help them with their offense. Corinne will be a great addition to any team she will plays for in the future

Madelein Stewart - 5”9' - Setter - Paramount 17 - American

Maddy is the other setter for Paramount. She, along with Chloe, have different impacts on the team's offense. One of Maddy's strengths is setting the middle and getting the ball to the pins. She is also a good defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='200199' first='Ava' last='Ray'] - 5”7' - Setter - VA Juniors 17 - Texas Southern

Ava has a great touch to the ball when she sets. She is quick on her feet and tries to touch every ball. She likes to run the quicks in the middle, which helps her team when [player_tooltip player_id='181098' first='Grace' last='Maria'] is in the back-row.
