On a team where everyone they played KNEW she was getting the ball, Rose still managed to put away 631 balls this season. The Ohio University commit is a springy, fast-armed, six-rotation outside that will do damage in the MAC in the coming years, and has plenty of experience to do so.

An absolute stud for years, Rose gave everything in her final year at Franklin Community. With her setter earning 28 assists in the regional against Floyd Central, Rose converted 21 of those into kills when everyone in the gym knew who was getting the ball. The Ohio University commit will be sorely missed from the Grizzly Cub program, and her reach throughout the program will be felt long after her graduation.

Rose, who recently committed to Ohio, continued her heavy-hitting and full-go mentality with her play on Saturday. As one of two committed pin hitters on this team, it’s easy to see immediately how Rose and her squad are the Hoosier Region champs. In Miss Mahin’s case, she hits a heavy ball, which is hard to defend, receives serve at an above-average level, and does everything she needs to do well. Already jumping past ten feet, it’s hard to believe that she’ll get even stronger from here.

An absolute hammer of an outside, Rose can terminate from anywhere while being a full-time, six-rotation player. At first glance, she looks undersized. Once the athleticism and jumping ability show, you can see the effect she can have on a match. Her serve receive and floor defense are also above average, making her the complete package. I’ve been high on Rose for quite some time, and to see all of her work and character pay off at the highest level (read: 17 open) is satisfying to watch.

BANG. That’s what it sounds like when Rose attacks. A six-rotation stud for Rev’s 17-1, Rose is a high-flying hard-attacking outside that knows one speed—-GO. In floor defense, Rose reads and reacts well, and has a structurally sound base and platform that allows her defense to be better than most. On the attack, she’s at ten feet already, which more than makes up for her height. To top it all off, her squad at Rev was the ONLY non-Circle City team to win Hoosier Bid Regionals this past weekend, earning the National bid in the process. Not bad at all for a kid from Franklin.

Explosive and springy, Rose has a live arm to go along with her active feet and jumping ability. As an athletic six-rotation option, Rose makes up for her height by out-jumping all blockers she goes against, all while hitting a heavy ball. She’s also tough from the back row and service line, as she more than showcased this past fall at Franklin Community where other offensive options didn’t exist. The natural athleticism looks smooth and balanced, and rarely does she put herself into a situation that causes multiple errors.

Crushing the ball at the net as much as from behind the baseline is Rose’s calling card. A full-go and no-quit outside that has been relentless in her arm swing for the Grizzly Cubs for quite a few years now, I have to believe that Rose’s size is the only thing holding her back from a legitimate offer. Even if you don’t like the size, her jumping ability more than makes up for it, jumping at a ten foot level for at least a year now. Miss Mahin knows who she is; hit high and hard, be fast and go for it.

Springy and in possession of a live arm, Miss Mahin has been the primary attacker at Franklin Community for some time now, and can take over a match if and when needed. Her six-rotation skills are above average, and she can put a ball away from anywhere. Her athleticism is way past a great majority of outsides on this (or any) list, and I like her high attack point considering her size.
