In the mix, 3A Hardin competed well with mostly larger programs and earned a spot in the gold bracket. Hardin finished 4th overall after a close three-set match with 5A Bryan Rudder and finished 6-2 overall. The Lady Hornets are currently 14-4 and are expected to dominate district.
Below are key player standouts from the Dayton Invitational.
Rollins is a powerhouse six-rotation outside that demands the crowd’s attention every time she attacks. Her swing is fast and unstoppable when she’s on top of the ball, especially her line shot. She’s just as offensively lethal swinging out of middle and left back. Rollins will be strong contender for MVP of her district.
Kylee Land
Kylee Land
Land is running a 5-1 with great ball placement and accuracy. Her quickness and anticipation makes her a strong defender in right back. One of her strongest attributes is her float serve that leads to long serving runs for her team. Fast and flat, Land’s consistent and powerful serve is a weapon for the Hornets.
Maddy Fregia
Maddy Fregia
Fregia is an all-around solid player. Although she’s primarily an outside, she’s effective in any position. On the net, Fregia has an athletic approach and fast swing. Defensively, she has a beautiful platform and angle passes well. Overall, Fregia is a complete package of a player.
Juliana Smart
Juliana Smart
Jules is a six-rotation middle and a fun piece of Hardin’s offense. She works hard in transition and connects well with Land in rallies. Her quick attacks score consistently for Hardin, and she’ll be a leading middle in district.
