Every senior needs younger players to support their goals for their final season and these five players are major contributors to their teams. Take note, and get to know the five outside hitters that are up and coming!

Mikala Henderson (5'9''- St. Michael Albertville) will be a big part of the the Knight's offense. She is a strong physical player at the net. Her fast arm swing is hard for defenses to read along with her variety of shots. Having played for the 16-1 Crossfire team, she is well-rounded and used to tough competition. While she may not be the most powerful hitter on the Knight's team, they can rely on her for consistent scoring. She already has 68 kills this season and a hitting percentage of .316.

Peyton Danielson (5'3''; Mabel-Canton) even though she is small, she plays big. Peyton is setting the tone for the season with 12 kills and 11 kills in her last two matches. Watching her play is very entertaining as she flies to the net. She has learned to be smart and use the opponents block to her advantage. Her foot speed and a fast offense help her to find opportunities to face only a single block. Also, this OH can hang in the back row too. She looks ready to help Mabel reach their playoff potential.

Mikaila Winard (5'7'' St. Louis Park) has been a big part of this program for a few years now and they will rely heavily on her this year as they play some of the biggest schools in the state. But Winard isn't afraid of a challenge. She has played on M1 15 and most recently M1 16-2 so she is accustomed to playing the best in the country. What makes her unique is not only is she a threat on the outside but she can also set and put up a strong block on the outside. She will make a great utility player in college!

Micalyn Trihus (6'; Blooming Prairie) is not a junior, but we had to add her to the list. She played her first season with Northern Lights last year and has shown great improvement. Although she's only a sophomore she has the height and strength of an older player. Playing multiple positions has helped her speed up her arm swing. We like her on the outside because she is such a physical player and puts up a great block against powerful right sides and setters. She is a work horse and has good instincts on defense. This sophomore is sure to be scooped up soon by recruiters with her height and heart!

Riley Queensland (5'9'' Grand Meadow) may play outside or you may find her in the middle, but wherever the coach puts her, she is sure to produce offense. In her first match she managed 14 kills and 5 ace serves against Kingsland. She is a powerful, multi-sport athlete that uses her strength to power through blocks and beat down opponents from the service line. Look for her to be the leader in multiple categories for her team.
