Region 4 Preview: Warren East vs. Clinton County

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We've made it to region!!! What a season it has been for all of us. For our final PrepDig high school stories of 2022 coming around, I wanted to preview the strong 4th region and each match up that's happening this next week. To start, Warren East will play Clinton County on October 24th at 5:30 PM. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Warren East, winner of District 15, has some high level studs that will carry them throughout the match. [player_tooltip player_id='474691' first='Baleigh' last='Young'], junior middle hitter, will be at the helm with her stud offensive skills and powerful blocking abilities. In the district championship alone, she had a whopping 19 kills and 5 blocks. Imagine what this girl will do in her first ever region tournament! [player_tooltip player_id='127204' first='Cayden' last='Vandiver'], senior libero, has been balling out this season in the back row and will be on the top of her game with this matchup. Plus, junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='128189' first='Jada' last='Knight'], has that steady, positive force throughout East's squad that just keeps them grounded any game. Serving, setting, defense, Jada will put up some numbers in the game. Then, throw in the other four hitters for East.... Makenna Rine, Kaitlyn Miller, Mia Andrews, and Jamie Phelps... and you've got an offensive powerhouse that can be hard to stop. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Moreover, we could say some facts about Clinton County and their unstoppable defense! On the year, the team has a total of 2,862 digs and 303 blocks which are huge numbers. [player_tooltip player_id='210742' first='Kellie' last='Brown'] and Mckenna Moons lead the charge with 711 and 783 digs each, and then both of them having over 30 service aces. The Lady Bulldogs also have some star hitters with Sadie Moons racking 452 kills on the year, and Landree Moons adding 201 with the team high of 122 blocks. What I like most about this team though is their grit and determination to win any game. This year they fell short in the district finals to their rival, Russell County, in an epic five set thriller and lost their consecutive winning streak, so I can tell you this team will be ready to recharge against East. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Clinton County has had a successful season going 21-15 on the year with a district runner-up finish. Their two seniors include outside hitter, Sadie Moons, and libero/outside hitter, Mckenna Moons. Both have accomplished so much in their volleyball career with three district trophies and one runner up title. Warren East finished 24-8 on the year with a district title and their first time ever now going to region. Their seniors include four defensive specialists: Darby Barnett, Carli Dragoo, Megan Scoggins, and [player_tooltip player_id='127204' first='Cayden' last='Vandiver']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Both Warren East and Clinton County have something to prove, so this will be a battle to watch.
