Rachel Rettmann 6’1 MB | Sibley East | 2019
Rettmann hammered home 23 kills as Sibley East earned a 25-19, 25-11, 25-21 over Tri-City United in a Minnesota River Conference match. Rettmann is a returning 2017 all-conference selection. Sibley East improves to 4-8 overall.
Sydney Thein 5’7 S | MACCRAY and Piper Asche 6’1 MB | MACCRAY | 2019
Thein dished out 32 assists and collected 13 digs and six kills for a solid all-round effort as MACCRAY beat Central Minnesota Christian School in a tightly contested match. Asche, a senior middle, produced another 20+ kill night with 21 total for the Wolverines. Set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 26-24.
Karsee Kampsen 5’9 S | BBE | ’21 & Ally Gruber 5’10 OH | BBE | ’19 & Brittany Berge 5’10 OH | BBE | ’20
Kampsen had a big match offering up 54 assists and collecting nine digs as Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa downed Eden Valley-Watkins 20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19. The outside hitter tandem of Gruber and Berge proved to be too much offense for EVW down the stretch as each tallied 19 kills. Gruber also added 18 digs and three aces in the come-from-behind win. Kamspen and Gruber are both returning Central Minnesota all-conference 1st team selections from 2017.
Gabby Straub 5’9 | Le Sueur-Henderson | 2019
A returning 2017 Minnesota River all-conference selection, Straub delivered up a double-double with 23 digs and 20 kills in a thrilling five-set match against Jordan. The Giants came up just short falling by set scores of 25-14, 18-25, 25-16, 24-26, 16-18, falling to 7-4 on the season.
Maddie Pearson 5’4 S | Minnesota Valley Lutheran | 2020
With 42 assists for the match, Pearson led a balanced Chargers’ offense to the Tomahawk Conference victory. MVLHS defeated Sleepy Eye 3-1 by set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-19.
Mariah Ahrndt S RS | Benson | 2020 and Kenzie Hoidal OH | Montevideo | 2019
Ahrndt led Benson with 23 assists and 13 digs in a 25-21, 17-25, 26-24, 25-21 victory over Montevideo. Hoidal had an impressive match in the loss as she collected 32 digs and 4 aces to help keep Montevideo close throughout the night.
