About Ariana

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As someone who is considered “undersized”, I play very aggressively. I attack the ball every chance I get, and I very rarely tip or roll shot. Although 5’8 seems short for an outside, it forces me to work harder and have higher standards and goals for myself.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

All my friends and teammates would say that I’m a silent killer and that I’m very positive on and off the court. When you first meet me, I’m pretty quiet and shy, but once I get onto the court I’m very vocal with a focused mentality. Personality wise, I’m a very kind and caring person. I value everyone that’s in my life because they’ve all contributed to who I am today.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Ever since I was little I’ve done community service. A few years ago my mom and I filled backpacks with school supplies, and we took them to Colombia to give to the children that were less fortunate. I’ve also done work with the YWCA, packaging hygiene and feminine products for women and young women in need.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge that I’ve faced recently is moving states halfway through my high school career. In 2024, my dad got a job offer in San Jose, which forced me to move from Washington to California over the summer. This was a nerve wracking and really hard transition that I’ve had to make. Now that I’m about halfway through my Junior year, I’ve never been more grateful for a change this big.

What type of college are you looking for?

The type of college I’m looking for is one that meets my academic and athletic wants and needs. Primarily I am looking for an HBCU, but I am open to go anywhere that allows me to put my skills to use and grow as a student athlete. Geographically, I’m looking for a school in a city that is diverse and has different activities for me to participate in during the off season.
