Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
The run of middle blockers continues. Similar to our discussion of Weers, Henn was the kind of middle blocker who didn’t need a quick set to gain an advantage. Elgin Public/Pope John levied this dominance to the tune of 3.6 kills per set–Henn’s second consecutive season with over three terminations per set. The Wolfpack broke into this year’s semifinal round at the state tournament, and they’re on the hunt for more.

Superstar middles were a prevailing storyline during our tournament coverage, and we shouldn’t leave Henn out of the conversation. Any time a middle blocker puts up over 300 kills on the season, you take notice. Henn’s prevalence in the EPPJ offense was incredibly clear during the postseason, as the Wolfpack designed plenty of first-ball routes for the junior leader. 2024 will show us more of the same.

Henn just has a knack for slugging it through the block. Opposing teams committed two blockers to EPPJ’s dominant middle blocker, but Henn still found ways to score with sheer power. She’s another one of Class D1’s all-around stars who managed to put up the kind of kill totals you’d expect from an outside hitter.
