Club Breakdown: Michigan Elite 15 Mizuno

Prep Dig has you covered on who's who and what names you need to keep on your radar.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>They're the big names of tomorrow! 15 Mizuno is looking to be another top team coming out of Michigan Elite. Cook comes into the season following her second straight season finishing in the top 3 at AAU Nationals and winning her third straight Division 1 championship with Marian. Needless to say, this team is in good hands. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Returners</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>From their days at 14 Mizuno, this team returns a good chunk of their offensive production. On the pins, both [player_tooltip player_id='226889' first='Madeline' last='Dettling'] and [player_tooltip player_id='226884' first='Faith' last='Cullen'] return. Dettling had a great season with SMCC, seeing significant court time. With time on both pins, Dettling comes into 2023 as a very versatile attacker. Cullen is another versatile piece. A player with great ball control, she can also hang and bang with the best of them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Returning middles are [player_tooltip player_id='226906' first='Reagan' last='Lesley'] and [player_tooltip player_id='226945' first='Jayla' last='Zayti'], Lesley is a player that is showing a lot of promise coming into the 2023 season. A great attacker that can get it done anywhere along the net, I would be curious to see where she ends up by the end of the season. Zayti is a really strong developing blocker. She got to be a part of Cook's squad in the championship run this fall. A familiar face to Cook's system and a player that got to develop behind some strong middle blockers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rounding out the group of returners include S [player_tooltip player_id='226885' first='Allie' last='Davison'] and DS [player_tooltip player_id='226897' first='Charlotte' last='Gramzow']. Davison is another Marian kid that's received significant time under Coach Cook this fall. She also had the opportunity to play under one of the best setters in the country, [player_tooltip player_id='66328' first='Ava' last='Sarafa']. Gramzow, a year ago, proved to be a great utility player under Coach <strong>Russ Carney </strong>at 14 Mizuno and will certainly continue that role for this team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:image {"align":"right","id":264760,"width":239,"height":168,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} --> <figure class="wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/12/2-Olivia-Beaudrie.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-264760" width="239" height="168" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">[player_tooltip player_id='226877' first='Olivia' last='Beaudrie']</figcaption></figure> <!-- /wp:image --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>New Kids on the Block</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Loading up with some big time reinforcements, 15 Mizuno calls up OH/MB [player_tooltip player_id='226911' first='Riley' last='Pilat'], L [player_tooltip player_id='226877' first='Olivia' last='Beaudrie'] and S/OPP [player_tooltip player_id='226904' first='Emma' last='Keeping']. Pilat is the younger sister of 17 Mizuno's [player_tooltip player_id='153663' first='Allison' last='Pilat'] and brings a much similar game like her older sis. Pilat has a nice, high contact on the ball and was a major contributor to Plymouth Christian this fall. Beaudrie is going to be a huge name to put on the radar this spring. Easily a talent with the potential to be a five star libero, nationally. I got to watch Beaudrie at the Top 250 and was thoroughly impressed with her game. A scrappy defender with a very high IQ, she'll be a difference maker in the tough moments. And to put the cherry on top to this team is [player_tooltip player_id='226904' first='Emma' last='Keeping']. One of the top freshmen in Michigan from the high school season, Keeping was huge for Imlay City. While a talented setter, the lefty knows how to bring some heat on the right side as well.
