Alia is moving up in the rankings due to her continued work on her craft. A question mark was her consistency when hitting, especially in the back row and in big moments. I have seen her several times this club season and she is answering those questions well. I have seen her take big shots from the back row, hitting as hard as if she was in the front row. If she keeps taking strides in her game, she will be a big pick up for a college.

She’s got an excellent pipe attack from the back row, which makes her a scoring threat, no matter where she is. She’s a smart hitter who knows how to mix up her hitter. Sometimes she’ll power through the block, other times she’ll use a well-placed tip or a sharp angle to catch the defense off guard. This keeps her opponents guessing and it makes her really tough to read.

What stands out about Alia is her confidence. She plays with a calm, composed presence, even in high-pressure moments, and it shows in her decision-making. Defensively, she’s solid. She reads the other team well and anticipates where the ball is going. She’s a well-rounded player who can impact the game in many ways. Whether she’s attacking from the front row or the back, Alia is someone you can count on to come up big when her team needs it.

She was excellent when pulled back for serve receive, staying calm and remembering to pass before transitioning out to approach. She hit a wide variety of shots, including sharp cross and deep line over the blockers. She had an amazing low-to-the-tape float serve this weekend that caught passes off guard and standing up. Alia also had impressive court awareness, consistently finding open spots to place the ball and keeping defenders on their heels. Her energy and focus were contagious and it was a pleasure to scout her this weekend.
