Olivia has been setting for the junior varsity for the last two years. They have finished 35-2 during that time. With a new coaching staff the opportunity exists for her to take over the varsity setting responsibilities. Last year’s setter Lucy Sroka graduated.
Paul VI has not finished above .500 since they won the WCAC in 2018. With a new coaching staff they will try to change that trend.

Olivia is a smooth setter. She has good hands and runs well to the ball, which allows her for the most part to use her hands when setting. For hitters hand sets are easier to time than platform sets.
This year should be an opportunity for Olivia to set for the Paul VI varsity. For the last two years her setting has made the junior varsity team almost unbeatable. Unfortunately, as I had to tell one parent when I coached junior varsity there are no state championships for junior varsity. Paul VI has a new coach creating a new mid set. This is an opportunity for Olivia to lay her mark on the varsity this year.

I expected Olivia to set for Paul VI last year. The year before she set for a pretty solid Junior Varsity team that finished undefeated. The Pamthers instead went to their libero from last year to set. This year Paul VI has a new coach. An opportunity to impress has shown itself. Olivia sets very well for VAVA, normally setting a 6/2 and rotating out once she hits the front row. For the Panthers she got some opportunity to set a 5/1. As a junior next year this is her year to make an impact. Olivia fits in at number 71 on our class of 2026 rankings.
