This series of posts will break down the list into specific groups with focus upon a few athletes that have landed among that portion of the rankings. As many of these athletes are slated to compete for some of the best clubs that Minnesota has to offer, we can bet that their stock will continue to rise. Here are a few athletes from Prep Dig’s class of 2020 rankings rated within 51-75:
Lauren Jasper – 5’11 | OH/RS | Academy of Holy Angels | M1 | Prep Dig #51
Good versatility as she can score from multiple locations across the net. Nice arm swing that can generate some heat behind the ball. Great all-around skills with potential to be very effective as a six-rotation athlete with above average passing and defensive ball control. Good blocking instincts and works hard to make herself a consistent available option offensively in transition.
Kora Kritzberger – 5’11 | MB | Ada-Borup | Summit Jrs. | Prep Dig #52
A Pine-to-Prairie all-conference and Defensive Player of the Year selection. Led Ada-Borup to the 2018 state tournament. Athletic and a great competitor that contributes in a variety of ways on both sides of the ball. Defensively she has great patience and instincts at the net blocking, getting her hands across the net quickly. Offensively she can swing for power and with touch to keep defenses off-balance. She is great off of one foot. Very effective as a middle for her size.
Emily Terry – 6’0 | OH | Kasson-Mantorville | SMV | Prep Dig #55
Jumps well with great scoring ability across the net. A Hiawatha Valley all-conference selection, helped lead the KoMets to the state tournament and a #1 ranking in Class AA for most of the 2018 season. Part of a very competitive club team at SMV that will undoubtedly draw attention as she will be a great pick-up through the recruiting process.
Lida King Prep – 6’1 | S | Northfield | Northern Lights | Dig #70
Good touch on the ball and location among a high school team with a lot of attacking options. At 6’1, brings some great length to the court as a defender both front and back row. With some increased foot speed she will be that much better in pursuit of the ball to increase her deception and delivery pin to pin in both serve receive and transition.
Kate Hamburg – 5’11 | OH/RS | Chanhassen | Vital | Prep Dig #74
Has the ability to score from both pins by moving the ball around. Provides good pace on the ball with her arm swing. With some increased attention to mechanics it will grow her speed throughout her movement patterns, elevation, and contact point making her more effective as a point scorer.
