Whitfield fits that brand where she is an athletic six rotation outside hitter for Illini Elite . She can serve receive, pass, and score points where she has an aggressive approach and violent arm swing. She has shown that she can compete at a high level and will be fun to watch in the Big Ten where there are plenty of these Class of 2026 from Illinois going.

Alana is an absolute weapon on every team she is on. She is a powerhouse pin hitter but has great ball control and a high volleyball IQ. She also puts up a massive block on the pin and stops some great hitters in their tracks. Alana can play all six rotations and is a very well-rounded and disciplined player who is one of the top players in this class.

Alana is an athlete I have written about before and one that has a huge presence on the court. She was impressive when I saw her play at the Prep Dig Gauntlet as well as virtual coverage I have done this season. Alana is a go-to hitter and can play at a high level on both pins. She puts up a massive block and is lethal in all six rotations.

Whitfield is not afraid to take a MONSTER swing from the outside. She takes a nice fast swing when she see the split in the block. Whitfield works hard in transition and plays with a solid game IQ.

Alana makes tough shots look easy. She plays in all six rotations and can swing well on either pin. When she is on the right side, she can cut the ball back to the line, which is tough for opponents to read and pick up. Nearly every time she executed that swing, it was a kill. Alana really stood out in her consistency on serve receive on defense. She is a very well-rounded player that had a huge impact on her team’s play today.
