Below are first timers to our 2024 rankings. We upped the number of ranked players from 100 to 120 to account for the Maryland and West Virginia players that play club ball for Virginia clubs.

Pictured above East Coast Power Shock 15 after their first place finish in the American Division of the Northeast Regionals 15, earning them a trip to Chicago for Jr. Nationals. Nothing to do with the 2024s but they earned the photo opportunity with a "shocking" performance by beating out 108 teams for the top spot..

[player_tooltip player_id='343017' first='Victoria' last='Tupy'] left side (Beach Elite) new at 25 - At 6'1" Victoria brings length to the left side. For her high school they list her as a middle. For Beach Elite she played left side, but showed she can hit from either pin. The Campbell commit passed well when she played in the back row. She could be an impact player as an outside but the fact that she can play middle adds to her diversity.

[player_tooltip player_id='309025' first='Payton' last='Swinton'] right side (Maryland Jrs) new at 31 - Brings a powerful left handed swing to the right side. Maryland Jrs operates a 5/1 giving Payton an opportunity to play all six rotations. One of the players Maryland goes to when they need a kill. At 5'10" she brings a good vertical to put up a good block on the right side. Still seeking a college commitment.

[player_tooltip player_id='309026' first='Lindsay' last='Kelley'] setter (Maryland Jrs) new at 32 - She sets a 5/1 for Juniors. Loves to dish out the quick sets to the middles and outsides. At 5'9" she brings some height when playing the front row. Jump sets frequently, which you want to see from your 5/1 setter. Still looking to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='352786' first='Casey' last='Bradley'] libero (MVSA Starz) new at 44 - When you watch her play you can sense she loves playing the game. She moves quickly in the back row, communicates well with her teammates and is not afraid to hit the floor to dig a ball. A good teammate to have on the court. Voted to the All Montgomery second team. Casey has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='192633' first='Kendall' last='Washington'] Left side (East Coast Power Marble) new at 46 - At 5'8" she does not bring height to the table. She does bring a good vertical and heavy velocity when she hits the ball. She plays all six rotations and makes a lot of offensive contact in the back row. An aggressive player who wants to be the one to make the play that turns the game around. Kendall has not committed.

[player_tooltip player_id='361569' first='Malani' last='Martin'] left side (Maryland Jrs) new at 47 - The third Maryland Junior player to make this list. An injury limited her playing time last year. She is healthy now bringing a good vertical to her game. She stands just 5'7" but her approach jump reaches 9'7". As someone once said - "it does not matter how tall you are. What matters is how good you are." A six rotation player who moves around the back row well. Malani also has not committed to a college.

[player_tooltip player_id='352784' first='Christina' last='Lockett'] middle (MVSA Starz) new at 55 - She uses the most of her 5'11 height to play the middle. Hits the quicks well and as one coach commented to me "was impossible to stop". Good arm extension when she swings at the ball. Christina has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='352785' first='Avery' last='Beall'] left side (MVSA Starz) new at 59 - Another Starz play but she contributes from the pins. She appears to be the player they seek when the team needs a kill. Honorable mention on the All Montgomery team. Avery has yet to commit.

[player_tooltip player_id='346713' first='Isabella' last='Kvetensky'] setter (Richmond VBC 16) new at 64 - Watched her run a 5/1 but at 5'10" she can hit right side in a 6/2. Runs an offense well. Isabella has not yet committed.

[player_tooltip player_id='338991' first='Eve' last='McLaury'] libero (Metro) new at 66 - At 5'11 she stands taller than many outsides. She played for Paul VI a couple years ago, moved to Colorado and played for Colorado Juniors. She recently moved back to this area and locked onto Metro. She has committed to Air Force.

[player_tooltip player_id='314736' first='Kiara' last='Harmon'] middle (Maryland Jrs) new at 119

Chesapeake Chirps: The hardest division to earn a bid in my opinion is American. More teams play in that Division than any other and you have to beat out everyone to earn your bid. East Coast Power Shock (pictured above) did just that, shocking a number of people by finishing ahead of 108 teams to win the American Division 15. They finished 11-0 (22-4) going 4-0 in third sets winning 13, 12, 11 and 7. In the championship match they beat Sarasota Juniors 30-28 in the first set.... Metro finished third to earn an Open bid, finishing 6-2 (13-8). They did not have to play a third place match since the third and second place teams had already received Open bids. Metros only two match losses were to those two teams. In gold medal bracket play Metro beat Paramount 14-25, 25-23 and 15-10 to earn their bid.
