Adidas President’s Day Spectacular 16/15 Premier Division Recap/Stand Out Players

<p>Teams across the state of Wisconsin traveled to Wisconsin Dells to compete in the Adidas President’s Day Spectacular hosted by Milwaukee Sting.  Eleven clubs had teams participating in the 16/15 Premier Division. In the end, only 1 team, Milwaukee Sting 15 White, remained undefeated, but every team lost at least two sets throughout the weekend. Three out of the four competing in the semifinals were Sting teams, including 15 White, 15 Burlington, and 15 Silver.  Wisconsin Premier 15 Teal took Sting 15 White to a 3-set battle in the semis.</p> <p><strong>Stand Out Players</strong></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="57262" first="Abbie" last="Stigler"] – 2022 - Outside Hitter – University School of Milwaukee – Milwaukee Sting 15 White</strong></p> <p>Stigler is really starting to find her flow.  When I had a chance to see her play, her fast arm swings really stood out. Stigler is currently uncommitted and ranked in our 2022 rankings.  She is definitely a player we need to watch for moving up in player rankings.</p> <p><strong>Emily Glembin – 2022 – Outside Hitter – St. Thomas More – Milwaukee Sting 15 Burlington </strong>Glembin first found her way onto my radar at the 2018 Joust.  She has the ability to dominate on the outside, and with the high level of coaching she is receiving, watch out for her in 2019.  Glembin is currently uncommitted.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="90600" first="Elise" last="Gillen"] – Setter – Wisconsin Premier 15 Teal</strong></p> <p>Gillen is quick on defense in the right back.  She also has nice soft hands and a quick release.  Gillen is a smooth operator and a smart distributor.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="81278" first="Maddie" last="Connor"] – 2022 – Setter - Germantown – Milwaukee Sting 15 Silver</strong></p> <p>Connor is a setter for a very loud and confident 15 Silver team.  She did a great job getting her middles involved and placing the ball so her hitters could score on the line.  Connor helped 15 Silver to a 5-2 record on the weekend.  She is currently unranked in our 2022 player rankings, but watch for that to change!</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="81308" first="Taylor" last="Larson"] – 2022 – 5’6 – Outside Hitter – Menomonee Falls – WI Premier 15 Teal</strong> </p> <p>15 Teal has found a lot of success this season so far.  Larson has led this squad with her dominant attacking on the outside.  She’s an uncommitted outside that is solid in serve-receive and hits a hard line.  Larson can also pound the split, make smart roll shots, and has great placement.  Don’t count her out when she rotates.</p>
