The 2023 Motor City Madness Showcase was a big success on Friday night, featuring 2024-26 prospects from around the state.

In the Class of 2024, there were 10 prospects that put on a strong display for scouts and showcased their growth in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='261198' first='Monique' last='Diehl'], MB Grass Lake/Michigan Elite

[player_tooltip player_id='261198' first='Monique' last='Diehl']

Diehl was a 6-foot middle that was very imposing at the net. Along with her size, her arm length was able to allow her to play above her peers. She was a real blocking force and could high point her attacks to work over blockers and attack at sharp angles. Diehl can be a dominant player if she is able to consistently add to her game.

[player_tooltip player_id='384208' first='Madelyn' last='Dudde'], RS Henry Ford II/Great Lakes VC

Dudde stands just 5'5”, but plays with a lot of heart and was an encouraging player to her peers. Dudde had strong defensive ability and was able to quickly move past any mistakes. While she doesn't have the length of a 6-footer, Dudde brings some good explosion off the floor and worked a good mixture of shots at the net.

[player_tooltip player_id='261146' first='Emma' last='Dunn'], DS/L Chippewa Valley/Team 27

Dunn was finding ways to make plays throughout the showcase. While she wasn't always the most technically sound player, she made up for it with effort and quickness. A scrappy player, as Dunn continues to fine tune her mechanics, she's going to be able to make big leaps in her growth as a player.

[player_tooltip player_id='261164' first='Jenna' last='Flick'], DS/L Traverse City West/Northshore

Flick was one of the notable defenders throughout the showcase. She played with a lot of poise throughout each session and seemed in complete control. Flick also moved very smoothly around the back row and easily got herself into good position to make dig after dig. When given the opportunity, Flick has some solid back-row attacks and was able to showcase her overall athleticism.

Kayla Mulder, OH Whitehall/MVA

Kayla Mulder

Mulder was a hitter that really caught eyes as the showcase went on. She really found her groove and was putting down some of the fiercest attacks at the event. Mulder is listed at 5'9”, but she seems to play much longer. She was a real force at the net, offensively and defensively, with her quickness and ability to find another gear.

[player_tooltip player_id='219684' first='Kora' last='Nicolanti'], OH Bloomfield Hills/Unified

Nicolanti was one of the most well-rounded players at this event and she brings a great attitude and energy to the court. Nicolanti shined when it came to hitting, passing and serving. She is technically sound in each area and is able to make key plays in all aspects of the game. That gives her plenty of confidence and a lot of trust in her instincts.

[player_tooltip player_id='172204' first='Caitlin' last='O'Neill'], S Skyline/L2

O'Neill came off a little unassuming at times, but when she stepped into her setter role, you could see why she has a lot of promise. A 5'10” setter, O'Neill is able to attack defenses with a lot of speed in her offense. She get the ball to her hitters quickly, or set them up with a graceful touch to the pin. She reads the court well and found some openings for herself during the showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='190087' first='Joy' last='Pryor'], DS/L Mt. Pleasant/Michigan Elite

Pryor was a player that took well to the coaching provided at the showcase. She was clearly improving with each session and was someone that grew in confidence with each solid pass or dig. When Pryor settled in and let the game come to her, she was able to be one of the most reliable defenders at the showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='153664' first='Jackie' last='Scheiber'], RS Riverview/Michigan Elite

One of the powerful 6-foot hitters at the event, Scheiber was able to bring a heightened level of aggressiveness compared to some of her peers. When she dialed up that intensity, she was powering through blockers and making a lot of highlight-reel attacks. Defensively, Scheiber had good blocking instincts and could stuff some of the showcase's bigger hitters.

[player_tooltip player_id='261205' first='Saniyah' last='Terry'], DS/L L'Anse Cresue North/Crank It

Terry was a composed defender that was able to make a lot of accurate passes while making a dig on the run. Her ability to locate the ball to her setter was among the best of the showcase. Terry also showed her overall athleticism during early drills and proved she can dial up a fastball at the net if need be.

The 2023 Motor City Madness Showcase was a big success on Friday night, featuring 2024-26 prospects from around the state.
