SLC National Qualifier Showcase Top PIN Performers Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are excited to be working with USA Volleyball, and to bring our second session of the Salt Lake City Showdown Showcase in conjunction with the SLC Showdown National Qualifier. We had amazing athletes join on us for our showcase on April, 14th from many states around the country. There were a lot of athletes who stood out to our court coaches and scouts for a variety of reasons. Players stood out for their physical skills and dynamic athletic abilities, as well for other intangibles as being leaders of their courts, dynamic work ethic, and ability to adapt to a variety of drills throughout the showcase. She currently attends Ponte Vedra High School, and plays club volleyball for OTVA located in the State of Florida. Leah was able to catch the attention of many court coaches and scouts throughout the Showcase, from the tactical skills needed to be an effective PIN as well the skills needed to be an effective passer/defender in the back row. Leah has a powerful arm, as well understands how to control her footwork to adjust to different tempos that were presented to her throughout drills, and live scrimmages. Her ability to hit seams one, three and four with great top spin on the ball demonstrates that she has an understanding of ball control that will allow her to score in all phases of the game. Leah has a the ability to create torque and speed throughout her transition, but one of the best features she showed was her ability to max jump in all her attacks even when the end result was not a full swing. For being a young player Leah has demonstrated a strong foundation of her physical abilities, but also has shown a true understanding of the skills necessary to be an effective PIN Hitter. Alexa currently plays at Lone Peak High School and also for Club V Volleyball Club in the State of Utah. Alexa obtained a lot of attention from our scouts and court coaches at the SLC Showcase. Her ability to contact the ball with great speed from the OH, RS, and Middle Back Position makes her an effective PIN Hitter in all phases of the game. Alexa was able to connect and terminate a lot of balls with many different Setters throughout the showcase, and adapt her tempo to each Setter. This demonstrates that Alexa at a young age has a great foundation and understanding of the different types of tempos in the game of volleyball. Alexa contacts balls with amazing torque and speed with an effective 4 Step, 3 Step, and 2 Step approach which gave her ability to score with in-system or out-of-system sets throughout our live scrimmages. Her ability to score in different PIN positions is one of the best aspects of her game. She understands how to adjust her approach and angle to the ball to give herself the best opportunity to obtain a kill, or extend the rally and keep the opposition out-of-system with hard driven attacks. She plays at Huntington Beach and United Volleyball Club in the State of California. Brooklyn did a fantastic job showcasing her entire volleyball skills during the SLC Showcase. She was able to demonstrate a strong foundation and understanding of the skills necessary to be an effective PIN Hitter at such a young age. What caught the eyes of our court coaches and scouts was her ability to have a high contact point with her swing, and adjust her swing to either hit hard angle to seam three, and even adjust her swing to hit seam one (Line) with great control. Seeing an athlete in the 2027 Class able to adjust her swing against older competition was remarkable. What makes her high contact point a great feature is that she is able to add enough top spin to her swing that allows her to attack blockers with much more height especially at such a young age. Bella plays at Niwot High School and Colorado Elite Volleyball Club in the State of Colorado. Bella had a great performance at our SLC Showcase that grabbed the attention of our PrepDig Scouts. Bella's ability to score from the front row and back row makes her a great young player in the 2026 Class. What allowed Bella to showcase her talents was her ability to max jump in all her attacks, and disguise her attacking moves. Her ability to max jump in her attacks gave her the ability to find the open gaps in the block or defense throughout our live scrimmages. Bella's ability to have many attacking options makes her a true threat as a PIN Hitter. What caught the eyes of our scouts was her ability to read the defense and then decide her attacking move. One of the best aspects of attacking tree is the way she can contact the ball high and swing line with tremendous speed. This ability at a young age will not only allow her to be an effective attacker at this age, but will also give her the ability to grow her game even more as she continues down her volleyball journey. Aislin plays at Legacy High School and Colorado Elite Volleyball Club in the State of Colorado. Aislin was an amazing standout athlete at our SLC Showcase that caught the eyes of many court coaches and scouts. Aislin standing at a height of 6'1u0022 with a lively and strong arm gives her the ability to be a strong presence as PIN Hitter. One aspect that makes Aislin's physical skills great is her ability to use her speed to and from the net. Aislin's footwork is great for her age, and the way she is able to ensure she can get her third step to the ball in her 4 Step approach showed scouts she has an understanding of tempo. Aislin gives herself the ability to get to every ball that allows her to use her strong arm and height to score or extend the rally for her team. The torque and speed that she can create from all aspects of her game is truly remarkable, she was able to demonstrate her ability to throttle the ball hard to seam three and four with great control. An additional aspect that made Aislin a Top Performer was her ability to play in the back row, and be an additional attacker for her Setter. She is able to attack balls from the Middle Back position with the same speed and torque, and hit zone 1/zone 6 with control. It was great to have Aislin be a part of the SLC Showcase, and can't wait to see her continue her volleyball journey.
