These athletes are looking to go out on top whether that be making school history, finishing their season at Xtream, and for most finding a place to play their college ball. As for the rankings, are they subjective? Yes. We can debate rankings all day. This is a list that college coaches can use to see where athletes are playing high school and if they are committed or not.
Athletes can claim their profile to update their own information as well. Head on over to our rankings section.
Bixby is one of the top athletes in the state and I think her ceiling is incredibly high where she could play out of the middle or on the right side (this is what she has shown so far). She’s won state titles in volleyball and basketball for DNH. Each time she steps on the court she has shown improvement to go along with her length and athleticism. She can touch a basketball rim and also shoot it from deep. Definitely one I would want on campus.

Bacorn is the best available setter in the Iowa Class of 2024. Her Club Ignit 17 Blue team will be heading to Chicago for nationals where I’m sure there will be coaches looking to see her one more time. She is the QB1 for her squad. She can get her hands to the ball, she keeps her team in system, and is a pure playmaker. There are a few 2024s on this squad who will be ones to get at the next level such as pins Noelle Sutcliffe Noelle Sutcliffe 5'11" | OH Norwalk | 2024 State IA and Claire Ernst Claire Ernst 6'0" | OH City | 2024 State IA . Look for a big performance from this squad come early July in the Windy City.
Berkland has always been a name to know on the club circuit with Iowa Rockets where she has played an age group up, most recently finishing her season with the 18s in Columbus. This past fall she was a key part to the Clear Creek-Amana squad who caught fire at the end of the season to finish as Class 4A runner-ups. Berkland can play at a high level, she knows what it’s like to be part of a winning program. She will be looking for more hardware with the Clippers this fall.
Highlights
So athletic. I can’t emphasize that enough when it comes to the game of Michaela Goad Michaela Goad 6'1" | MB Marion | 2024 State IA . Her Marion High School team lost a heartbreaker in the Class 4A Quarterfinals to Clear Creek-Amana, but in that game I saw how explosive and dynamic Goad could be. She was hitting on the outside out of serve receive. She was a major impact in the middle offensively and defensively with a fast arm that could hit sharp angles while also getting a touch on the opposing attacker’s swing. She could be a steal at the next level and another athlete with a big upside to her game.
Runyan played up on the Club Ignit Select 18s team where she is from the Class of 2024. She was the key cog in the Indianola run to the state tournament in 2022 where they lost a five set thriller in the quarterfinals. The Indians will return a lot of key pieces from that team where they could be a favorite to take home some hardware this upcoming fall. Runyan is able to get her feet to the ball and remain neutral where she can make it look like she is setting a quick to her middle or pushing the ball to the outside. She has a high IQ and smooth release which makes her one of the top setters in the state.
