While it is primarily made up of teams from the Great Lakes Region, a handful of Wisconsin and Iowa teams are making the trek to the Great Lakes Center. Many Wisconsin athletes play for clubs in Illinois, including at VC United . Here are some Wisconsin athletes taking on the Land of Lincoln tournament.
Natalie is a talented libero with a lot of potential. She is disciplined in her movement across the court, has a consistent platform, and is not afraid to use her hands. Most liberos at this age primarily use their platforms, but Natalie gets great touches with her hands on defense. Because of this, she has a wide defensive range that covers a lot of court.
Grae has a lot of experience on the court. She was a part of Oconomowoc’s state runner-up run this fall as a middle hitter, but plays on the pin for VC United . Grae is athletic and puts up a solid block. She is an impact player on the court and contributes on both offense and defense.
Lillian is gritty and competitive on the court. Her sets have some impressive tempo and precision. She runs the offense fast, and her hitters better be ready. Lillian is also an offensive weapon for VC. She also plays on the right side and earns a good number of kills with her quick arm swing and great ball placement. Lillian is a competitor and one who is a leader on the court.

Molly is a very impressive athlete who plays all six rotations. She is a double threat as a setter and hitter. Her volleyball IQ is very high, and she has a knack for knowing when to tip and earn points. She is aggressive in her decision-making and is a go-to hitter in the front row. She is a dynamic and well-rounded athlete with huge potential.

Rachel Shuberg
Rachel is a very scrappy libero who is aggressive and quick on her feet. She is ready for any tip, block touch, swing, or serve that comes over the net and will get a hand on it. She has great pick-ups throughout matches and never gives up on a ball.
Brynn is a middle hitter who has a heavy hand on the ball. She moves the ball around strategically and switches up her shots. Brynn has a powerful swing and is an impact player. She puts up a great block and works hard to read and move across the net efficiently. She can also play on the right side and is an athlete to watch.
Rebecca Ring Rebecca Ring 6’2″ | OH Edgewood | 2025 State WI is a powerhouse pin and one of the top athletes in her class. Her sister currently plays for Marquette, and Rebecca has the potential to play for a top program as well. She is lethal in all six rotations and has really developed her defense and serve receive. Rebecca always makes herself an option for her setter and is an energizer on the court.
Eva is a hidden gem in the class of 2025. She is disciplined and always learning. She will do everything in her power to read and pick up every ball that comes her way. She can play across the back row and is equally as valuable in serve receive and defense. Eva rarely makes the same mistake twice and has a powerhouse serve that keeps her on the back line multiple points in a row.

Veronica Tollakson Veronica Tollakson 5’10” | RS New Glarus | 2024 State WI is a lefty right side that can play all six rotations. She has a quick approach and a big vertical. Veronica has a deep toolbox of shots. She can just as easily tool the block as rip a ball deep line. Veronica is an offensive weapon in the back row as well and is a gritty and well-rounded athlete who is an impact player.

Sophie Chase Sophie Chase 5’11” | OH Burlington | 2024 State WI is a smart pin hitter who can place a ball wherever she wants on the court. I feel like I could randomly throw a dot onto the court, and she could place the ball in its exact spot. This is a tough skill to achieve, and it helps her manufacture points on both pins. She is consistent yet still brings power to her swings.
Caitlyn Flees Caitlyn Flees 6’1″ | MB Burlington | 2024 State WI is a fast and smart middle hitter – a dangerous combination for a middle. She puts up a massive and impenetrable block and can move pin to pin efficiently. Caitlyn runs great balls both in front of and behind the setter and always makes herself available on offense. She is a talented, disciplined middle with good court awareness and can read opposing setters well.
