It's been a hot minute since we've had a commitment radar report for the kids out of Michigan.

The 2023s are off and well into their rookie seasons with their collegiate programs. Meanwhile, this summer saw the 2024s begin to dwindle in size of what was left of the uncommitted. For the 2025s, the floodgates have opened! Some of the top names in the junior class have been scooped up by some big time programs. I am sure there will be more major announcements from that class within the remainder of high school season.

Without further ado, let's catch you up on all the big commitments coming out of Michigan since we last updated!

6'3 OPP - Seaholm/Michigan Elite

One of the breakout players from the 2024 class, [player_tooltip player_id='261212' first='Sydney' last='Ryan'] had a really big junior year. After a steady season with Seaholm, Ryan joined the ranks of Michigan Elite and found herself at the forefront of the 17 Mizuno offense. A powerful player at the net with her size, Ryan showed moments of top level play throughout the club season. She'll be joining fellow Michigan Elite alumni L Kendyl Andrews and Assistant Coach Hailey Richardson at Wayne State in the fall of 2024.

5'10 S - Brighton/L2

In what many consider the first major class from the newly formed L2 club, [player_tooltip player_id='110298' first='Lea' last='Gage'] has been pacing the offense to this 17s group since everything started. A multi-faceted player, with not only a knack for the hot arm, but known for having a hot arm herself. Gage can bring the heat just as much as she can ignite it. With Brighton, Gage is seeing unprecedented heights this season, pacing her team to a top 5 ranking in the MIVCA Polls.

5'11 OH - Saline/Legacy

Following a national championship with Legacy in 2022, this high-flying outside hitter then led Saline to their first ever Division I Final Four. [player_tooltip player_id='156313' first='Marie' last='Laurio'] will be looked to produce similar results over in New York in a rebuilding Syracuse program. A complete six rotation player with the ability to take over a match, Laurio can go sky high above the competition and bring down some serious lightning. There's been a recent wave to the ACC out of Michigan, and an impending growth of strength in this power conference. With a recruit like Laurio, this all adds fuel to the fire.

[player_tooltip player_id='222361' first='Clara' last='Gyomory'] to Northwood

5'11 OPP - North Branch/Michigan Elite

A part of the fab four out of the North Branch cannon, [player_tooltip player_id='222361' first='Clara' last='Gyomory'] had herself an incredible junior year. Following an unprecedented campaign with the Broncos in the fall, she followed it up with even more victory with Michigan Elite. Gyomory led the Bronco's to a long-awaited return atop Division II, leading the offensive power. She, too, was a huge driving force to her 17 Elite's successful year and a bid to USAV Nationals. Gyomory will be heading just 60 minutes northwest of home to Northwood University.

5'7 L - SMCC/Michigan Elite

She's regarded as one of the top defensive players in the class of 2025. A mainstay at the libero position for both SMCC and Michigan Elite since her first moments on the court, [player_tooltip player_id='156321' first='McKenna' last='Payne'] is a certified gamer. Her freshman year saw Payne lead SMCC to a Division III Runner-Up finish and then 15 Mizuno to a third place finish at AAU Nationals. Fast forward to this past year, Payne manned the back court of a National Runner-Up 16 Mizuno squad. She leads SMCC this fall to a current No. 1 ranking in Division III with eyes set on bringing a title home to the Kestrels. Payne marks another prospect out of the 2025 class in Michigan to be heading to the Big XII. She joins the likes of teammates, [player_tooltip player_id='156287' first='Isabelle' last='Busignani'] (Cincinnati) and [player_tooltip player_id='156307' first='Shelby' last='Ignash'] (Texas Tech).
