<p>The high school volleyball season is going at full pace in the state of Texas and during the next four months, hundreds of matches will be played across the Lone Star State until we know the new state champions.</p>

<p>Prep Dig will be covering multiple matches every week and featuring the players that stand out the most for their performances over the course of the season, but we'll also preview some matches that have the potential to be very interesting ones. </p>

<p>As district play starts to pick up, some big rivalry matches are taking place around the state and here's one of them:</p>

<p><strong>Plano West vs. Plano East - September 22, 6:30 PM - @ Plano West HS</strong></p>

<p><strong>Plano West</strong></p>

<p>The Plano West Lady Wolves won their first four district matches and their last non-district matches and enter the derby with five straight victories - their season record has 19 wins and just three losses. Middle [player_tooltip player_id='307450' first='Katherine' last='Mansfield'] (senior) and outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='293180' first='Blaire' last='Bowers'] (sophomore) and Kaitlyn Brewer (junior) have been the team's most active players offensively, with 299, 159 and 133 kills respectively - Mansfield also leads in blocks with 79. Junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='227874' first='Sophia' last='Wei'] has 443 assists in the season and recently surpassed 1,000 in her career - she also leads the team in aces (26) and is second in digs (167). Bowers is first in digs (168) and passes (367).</p>

<p><strong>Plano East</strong></p>

<p>The Plano East Panthers lost a district match to Flower Mound, but recovered immediately, beating Coppell and currently have a 3-1 district win record - their season campaign indicates 21 victories and ten losses. Senior outside hitter Lauryn "Lolo" Lambert has been the team's undisputed leading scorer in the season with 468 kills and she also leads in digs (338) and passes (399). Middles [player_tooltip player_id='254300' first='Simone' last='Heard'] and [player_tooltip player_id='155120' first='Ashby' last='Daniel'] have also been a big part of the team's play as the sophomore has 192 kills and 46 blocks while the senior produced 135 kills and 42 blocks. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='452246' first='Megan' last='Nguyen'] is first in assists (480) and second in digs (227).</p>
