Arcadia Valley Sectional Win:

Arcadia needed less than an hour to hammer Med-Bio 25-9, 25-12, 25-9 to move into the Quarterfinals and looking to return to the final four after finishing 2nd in 2018. Cate Newstead-Adams and [player_tooltip player_id='737619' first='Kayla' last='Sumpter'] both led the attack combining for 26 kills and 14 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='495335' first='Taylor' last='Lorenz'] dished out 32 assists in the victory.

Scott City Sectional Win:

Scott City would have a little more trouble in their Sectional win over Portageville taking a 25-13, 25-21, and 25-22 victory to move one step closer to a return to the final four. Scott City's last appearance in the final four was a 2009 Championship.

Prediction: Arcadia Valley played a tough schedule and helped them prepare for this Sectional match. Scott City has a better record but not as tough a schedule as AV. Arcadia Valley will hang on for a 3-2 victory to return to the final four.

Hermann Bearcats 19-17 vs. Stover Bulldogs 34-2

Both teams won the Sectional round taking 3-1 wins. Hermann knocked off Whitfield 25-12, 23-25, 25-12, and 25-15 while Stover beat Houston 25-22, 25-18, 22-25, and 25-23.

Previous Meeting: None

Hermann Sectional win:

Hermann had three players in double-digit kills and received 14 more from three other hitters. Hermann served Whitfield off the court with 20 aces which helped them take the win.

Stover Sectional Win:

Stover didn't know who was going to show up and play them in the sectional round. Was it Houston or Licking? The whole mess between those two schools and MSHSAA was a complete disaster. Whoever they were going to play Stover was ready and waiting at home for whoever would show up.

[player_tooltip player_id='342444' first='Hannah' last='Bauer'] – 2024 – 5'3” – Libero

296 digs

Prediction: These two met in the same game last year and Hermann thumped Stover 25-14, 25-11, 25-11 but this is a new Hermann team. Stover is seeking revenge and could give Hermann a run for their money. When it comes to the state playoffs in Class 2 no program can hold a candle to the Bearcats. They are seeking their 16th state championship and 8th straight trip. Stover is seeking its first trip since a 3rd place finish in 1984. This won't be the year Stover makes a return as the Class 2 power Bearcats keep the season alive with a 3-1 win.
