Top 250 Expo Dallas: Top Performers – Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Dig Top 250 Expo made its second stop in the state of Texas last weekend, reuniting several of the top prospects in the Dallas region for a two-hour session at the Southwest Athletic Center, in Carrollton.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was some great volleyball being played and several prospects took full advantage of the opportunity to raise their stocks by producing at a very high level during the event. She did a very good job during the defensive drills and also was very solid with her passing during the match-like activities. Austin was also very effective offensively. She got off the floor very well, used every inch of the length to make contact with the ball at a high point and displayed great vision to find gaps in the block and explore them. She did great in every offensive drill and, because of that, was set quite often during the match-line activities. Peterson is very long, jumps extremely well and uses her long arms to reach the ball at a very high point. She was nearly unstoppable when hitting in the middle because she never took a straight swing, instead always finding difficult angles to avoid the block. Peterson also played on the right and continued to use her high contact point to her favor, while also mixing things up and scoring off of tips as well. Part of the Lovejoy squad that won the State title just a week earlier, she displayed all the tools to become one of the best in her class if she continues to improve at this pace. 'Coco' has the size and length to be a factor at the net, is extremely precise with her locations and is always calm and relaxed. A lefty, she's also a threat in setter dumps and swings on two. Her ball handling is really great and I was impressed to see her repeatedly hit the exact same location at the pin, even when out of system. She likes to speed up the game and jump sets whenever possible. Very physical and athletic, she has the potential to be a force in the middle down the road. Physically, there's nothing missing in her game as she's tall, long, jumps well and is extremely mobile at the net. Her blocking is already a factor as she reads the game well and times her jumps accordingly.
