Recruiting Commitment Updates Vol 83

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It doesn't matter what level you play at when you think about the fact that NCAA research shows that only four percent of high school volleyball players play in college.&nbsp; Texas is second to none when it comes to our players earning the right to play at the next level.&nbsp; The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming.&nbsp; We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams.&nbsp; We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front.&nbsp; There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news.&nbsp; These young ladies have been hard at work during the club and high school volleyball season.&nbsp; They also have been hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their college decisions.&nbsp; Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='124145' first='Macie' last='Mathis']&nbsp;[2024] 5-11 Outside (HS: Smithson Valley/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Texas Tech University)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Macie is currently ranked as the 108^th best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays for Smithson Valley High School and also for the Alamo volleyball club. &nbsp;Miss Mathis is very well known to us at Prep Dig as we have been part of her journey for the past three years.&nbsp; I have kept up with her journey very closely and she has blossomed quite nicely in her position.&nbsp; Starting out at a smaller club when she was younger, she easily transitioned to a large club playing at the highest level possible.&nbsp; Her skill set has improved drastically over the last three years helping her become a very valuable member of her high school varsity squad and her club squad.&nbsp; While she excels in the front row, her six rotation abilities are also seen in the back row as well.&nbsp; She can play defense with the best of them and can terminate the ball from any location on the court.&nbsp; I love how she has such a high motor that just doesn't quit.&nbsp; We are extremely proud to announce that she has decided to play volleyball at Texas Tech University.&nbsp; Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='179921' first='Sophia' last='Thornburg'] [2025] 6-2 Outside (HS: Ursuline Academy/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Notre Dame University)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sophia is currently ranked as the 38^th best overall prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays volleyball at Ursuline Academy of Dallas and club for the Dallas Skyline volleyball program. &nbsp;Miss Thornburg is a stud at attacking the ball and we have covered her since she blasted onto the scene as a freshman.&nbsp; Sophia can play any pin position and has a cannon that can throttle the ball with extreme authority.&nbsp; She is the type of player that is going to get her kills no mater what and you cannot stop her…you can only hope to slow her down.&nbsp; Defensively she can cover so much ground in middle back and plays a true thirty feet sideline to sideline.&nbsp; While in the front row, you have an elite blocker who can shut down anyone.&nbsp; We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at the University of Notre Dame. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='186263' first='Madison' last='Lee']&nbsp;[2024] 5-7 Setter (HS: Harlan/Club: SA Impact/Verbal: Mid-America Christian University)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Madison is currently an unranked prospect in the state according to the 2024 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but is on our official watch list.&nbsp; She plays for Harlan High School and plays club for the San Antonio Impact volleyball program.&nbsp; Miss Lee is a very talented disher of the rock who spreads the ball out very evenly amongst her attackers.&nbsp; I like that she truly understands those spread principles and it will come in handy as she transitions over to the high-level collegiate game.&nbsp; She has helped her club team qualify for USA nationals over the past few years and her contributions are very well noted by scouts.&nbsp; She uses her jump sets very nicely to keep the middle honest and that creates some solid one on ones for her attackers.&nbsp; We are proud to announce that she has committed to playing volleyball at Mid-America Christian University.&nbsp; Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing at the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are just now getting caught up with all of the commitments that have happened this past year.&nbsp; There are many more amazing players that are getting offers.&nbsp; Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes to see where they end up.&nbsp; If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at <a href="mailto:Michael@prepdig.com">Michael@prepdig.com</a>.&nbsp; Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends.&nbsp; Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook.&nbsp; Thanks for following Texas Family!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
