Fox is back for one final season after being a fixture in the St. Pius X lineup for several years. She’s quick off the floor, efficient, and knows how to finish points in the middle. One thing I also like about her game is her versatility. When needed, she’s shown she can slide out and take swings from the pins, adding another dimension to her skill set.

Fox attacks at a high percentage and surpassed 300 kills on just over 700 attack attempts during her junior season. With her experience, consistency, and ability to terminate, she should once again be one of the top middles to watch this fall.

Mikayla led the 2027 Class 4 with an impressive hitting percentage of .411 last year, amassing 354 kills and only 56 errors. A dynamic attacker, she is on the verge of significant milestones, needing just 140 more kills to reach 1,000 career kills and 15 blocks to surpass 300. In a thrilling five-set match against Platte County, Mikayla showcased her skills with 20 kills on 42 attempts, finishing with a flawless performance—zero errors.

Fox brings an explosive element to the middle position with how quickly she gets off the floor and attacks at contact. She does a really nice job beating blockers in transition, and the quickness on the first step allows her to stay available offensively throughout rallies. What stands out most is the power she generates from the middle. Even on quicker tempos, she attacks with authority and creates tough angles for defenders to handle. The combination of lateral movement, fast elevation, and physicality makes her a difficult matchup in the middle, and the overall offensive ceiling continues to look very promising.

I saw Fox for the first time during the high school season and she stood out as a game-changer on the court. She has the size and court IQ that makes a difference every time she takes the floor. She has a good swing allowing her to power through blocks with a high success rate.
