For many, a final horrah in the club scene is on tap. For some, this past high school season proved to be their wave good-bye to Michigan prep volleyball. This has been quite the class of players.

In one of the last ranking updates for the 2024 class, let's take a look at the top 5 Middle Blockers in the field.

No. 4 [player_tooltip player_id='110282' first='Mallory' last='Bohl'] - Saline/Legacy (Notre Dame)

For this player, this high school season was her first and last true season playing for Saline full-time. With an injury derailing her junior year, [player_tooltip player_id='110282' first='Mallory' last='Bohl'] came back strong this fall. En route to leading her squad to a Sweet Sixteen appearance, Bohl found herself on the shortlist for All-SEC honors. In just a mere weeks, Bohl will head to South Bend to begin her collegiate career with the University of Notre Dame. Bohl caps off her career as the top ranked middle and fourth overall ranked player in the 2024 class.

No. 5 [player_tooltip player_id='110305' first='Kendall' last='Hopewell'] - Forest Hills Northern/FaR Out (Northern Kentucky)

2023 has been a spectacular year for [player_tooltip player_id='110305' first='Kendall' last='Hopewell']. After an explosive club season that saw her well within the mix of a national title winning 18s team in April and then follow up with a top 5 finishing 17s team in June, Hopewell continued the fun this fall. Forest Hills Northern had one of the best 1-2 punches in Michigan. Hopewell being a mighty one. Leading FHN to their first title appearance since 2003, the six rotation playing middle was a sight to see on the court. After wrapping up her club career with FaR Out this winter, Hopewell will head south to play with Northern Kentucky in the fall.

No. 19 [player_tooltip player_id='110314' first='Carissa' last='Musta'] - Cadillac/Northshore (Uncommitted)

[player_tooltip player_id='110314' first='Carissa' last='Musta'] really splashed onto the scene in her junior high school season. After leading her team to a championship appearance, Musta kept the fire alive. While Cadillac didn't have the best post-season success after moving to Division 1 this fall, Musta still proved a gnarly piece on the court. With over 544 kills, hitting .349 on the season, Musta was one of the most prolific middles across divisions and age groups this fall.

N0. 20 [player_tooltip player_id='110315' first='Avry' last='Nelson'] - Northville/Legacy (Eckerd)

Once again, Northville found themselves amongst the top of the crop in Division 1. One of the biggest reasons for this is the improved play of [player_tooltip player_id='110315' first='Avry' last='Nelson']. A stout blocker and a really developed offensive piece, Nelson left it all out there. For the second straight season, Nelson led the Mustangs to the Final Four. She will be wrapping up her prep career this coming winter with Legacy before heading to Eckerd College in Florida next fall.

No. 21 [player_tooltip player_id='110321' first='Piper' last='Risdon'] - Lowell (Vermont for Basketball)

If this player wanted to pursue a collegiate volleyball career, she'd be a top prospect. Much like her prowess on the volleyball court, she's a stud on the basketball court. This fall showcased the last we will see [player_tooltip player_id='110321' first='Piper' last='Risdon'] on the volleyball court however. For Lowell, the four standout has been at the forefront for the Red Arrows every step of the way. So much, despite an early bow out in the post-season, Risdon earned First Team All-State honors. Going forward, Risdon will be all basketball as she is committed to the University of Vermont.
