The Ursuline product has become a steady factor in the first-touch aspect of the game. She has good patience and reaction in serve receive while also creating quality transition opportunities with her defense. At 5’8, she has good length for this role to complement her quickness and movement efficiency. It will be fun to watch her compete among a high potential team that has some new elements in key positions.

Hughes has had a terrific varsity career for a solid Roger Bacon program. She makes the move to

‘s top 17U team after multiple years at TSE. At 5’9, she is a crafty distributor with good physical tools in her quickness and ability at the net to put up a good block as well as call her own number to score at the second contact. One of the premier setters in this Ohio class, we are intrigued to see her lead this team that has some big arms returning.

The 6’1 middle moved to Roger Bacon for this past high school season and has emerged a better middle, especially on the defensive side of the ball at the net. She can fill up space well above the net when blocking that applies good pressure to opposing hitters. Offensively, she has also made gains in her footwork and ability to attack with more range around the setter which makes her a challenge to track when in system.

Musselman is coming off a productive season for Bishop Watterson as she terminated 222 kills for a 2.4 k/s average. She also added nearly 10 digs per match. At 5’11, she has good tools at the left pin to play six rotations. When her feet are to the ball and she is on time and balance, she can take a big swing for points from both sides of the court.
Sophia Loomis – MB | NKYVC
Loomis may be the x-factor for a good NKYVC 17-1 squad that had challenges with consistency in the middle phase of the game a season ago. She has potential to be a physical competitor at 6’1 with a strong arm and the ability to put up a big block. Her involvement offensively should complement their big pins well. The Loveland product was an ECC honorable mention selection after earning 1.8 k/s and finishing 6th in blocking.
