Kennedy Whyte Kennedy Whyte 6'1" | OH/RS Monte Vista | 2027 State CA was hand-selected by Tournament Director Deo Boongaling as the Avoli Committed Athlete. Kennedy is more than an outside hitter, she is a straight baller. Kennedy lit up the court with a high, powerful arm swing and a presence that screamed “next level.” She dominated both offensively and defensively, catching the attention of everyone in the gym.

But what truly separated Kennedy wasn’t just her physical tools, it was the way she showed up for others. With a big smile and even bigger energy, she cheered on teammates and opponents alike, offering encouragement after every play and keeping the gym environment competitive but positive. Her leadership extended far beyond the net, making her a clear choice for this honor.

“I would describe my role as being the loudest one on the court, always supporting and uplifting my teammates”

🏐 What’s something specific you’ve been working to add to your game this season, and why?
“I’ve been working on adding different shots to expand my hitting toolbox.”

🌟 Off the court, how would your coaches and teammates describe you, and what personal qualities do you bring to a team culture?
“My coaches and teammates would describe me as someone who usually has the most energy and always tries to bring humor to every situation.”

“A fun fact about me is that I’ve played eight different sports throughout my life.”

Her ability to consistently deliver strong, solid hits makes her the focal point of her team’s offense, with opponents frequently commenting on how they know exactly who will be set. This kind of recognition underscores the respect she commands from rival teams, as well as the high expectations placed on her shoulders.

Kennedy’s game translates seamlessly to the collegiate level. Not only does she excel in front-row attacks, but she’s also a force in the back row. Her top-spin serves are a significant weapon, often disrupting serve-receive patterns and shifting momentum in her team’s favor. What sets Kennedy apart is her versatility—she’s more than just a hitter; she’s a complete player. Whether she’s diving for balls on defense or transitioning seamlessly between offense and defense, Kennedy’s relentless effort makes her a valuable asset. College coaches will admire her tenacity and refusal to back down, especially under pressure.

I asked Kennedy about the pressure and she responded, “I’ve learned playing under pressure allows me to opportunity to step up and help my team. Staying calm and focused on each point is really important, and I trust my training to get me through tough moments. The pressure actually sharpens my focus, and I feed off the energy of my teammates. It’s made me better at staying composed and performing well when it matters most.”
