Good hands, tall enough to play at the net, plays solid defense and loads of experience, going into Senior year here at Severna Park and for a talented CVA team. One of the top tier of setters in MD, and it’s a good, thick class to be a part of. It’s rare to see teams where there strength starts at Setter and radiates out, but this is one of them, it makes them interesting to watch and impossible to count out.

Geneivieve is another one of those tall setters at 5’10” who can both set and hit on the right side. She caught my attention at the Prep Dig showcase earning a top performer award and has been on my radar ever since.

For Severna Park she finished first in assists, second in digs and blocks as well as third in kills. She is a player who can do it all.

Columbia Volleyball Academy always seems to do a pretty good job of developing setters. It appears she sets a 5/1 for them since she is the only rostered setter. They have finished in the top three in four tournaments this year. Their next big tournament will be the Chesapeake Bid Regional Championships on March 22.

Genevieve is another player that caught my eye at the Prep Dig showcase this past August. She won a top performer award at the event. Her contribution at Severna Park high has also been going well. Unlike the other setters on this list Genevieve sets a 6/2. Instead of continuing as a setter in the front row she moves to the right side to hit.

At 5’10 she brings good height to the front row. This allows her to hit and block (third on the team in both categories). Last year as a sophomore those numbers were nonexistent. She also serves well (second) and plays a solid defense (third). Losses to Arundel and Broadneck drop them to sixth in their region.

Genevieve has helped Severna Park get off to a fast start. While she sets for the Falcons she also stays in the front row to hit right side. She leads the team in assists but ranks third in kills, blocks and digs. She also ranks second in aces.

Genevieve was voted a top performer at our Prep Dig Stock Up Showcase in August. At 5’10 she brings good height to the setting position. Love the fact that she primarily jump sets as she feeds the hitter the ball.

A solid all around player.

At 5’10 she brings some good height to the setting position. She also distinguished herself at the stock up showcase in August. That bumped her up from 88 to 44 in our rankings. Columbia used her in a 5/1 and when you watch her set she jump sets every chance she gets. Those type of setters help the hitters with their timing but can also draw the block up to create single blocks on the pins.

Last year it appears she shared setting duties for Severna Park. Her experience with Columbia may give her more opportunities.
