Here are some teams and players who definitely are turning heads due to their play. This series will highlight some players who we have seen in person and that we are adding to our list to watch this season.
Forza1 15 ONE
When I stopped by their court I didn’t expect to see the raw power and natural athleticism from so many players, so it was really refreshing to witness. Setter Kiersten Moore Kiersten Moore 5'10" | S Vista Murrieta | 2027 CA showed me so much heart playing all the way around running a 5-1 offense. She is definitely going to be in the running for one of the top setters when I update the Rankings in a few weeks. Pin attacker Summer Tukua was blasting volleyballs in warm up and during the match I watched also. This kiddo has some serious potential and I cannot wait to watch her continue to progress. Libero Baylee Jones Baylee Jones 5'9" | DS/L Vista Murrieta | 2027 CA did a masterful job at keeping her team in every rally with some solid passing and digging. Her teammates really trusted that she would be there to back them up in the back row. Middle Evelyn Pool truly impressed me and I can’t wait to add her to the Rankings. She is very smart, moves well laterally and has power for days. Pin attacker Janiah Burrage might have the most potential out of them all. I watched her take it to another level with her high vertical and reach. Left side Ella Johnson rounds out the hot firepower that this team possesses. They are all solid attackers and can get hot in a hurry to light up the scoreboard.
Vision 16 Gold
Makenna Crosson Makenna Crosson 6'3" | OH Archbishop Mitty | 2026 CA has the frame that college coaches want and the game to back it up. She is long and powerful while attacking. Her ball control out of serve receive and her ability to get to her touch point to attack very quickly make her a number one option early in the matches. Setter Jenelle Legates knows exactly who to set during each situation her team is in. When I watch her play, I see a very high volleyball IQ and the athleticism to match it. The ball comes out of her hands so fast and reaches her hitters in a hurry. This kind of offensive tempo that she sets with is dangerous to any opponent. Libero Ava Wang Ava Wang 5'4" | DS/L Menlo | 2026 State CA plays the position with a lot of heart and never gives up on her team or the play until the final whistle blows. She has great resolve also to just keep fighting when things may not go her way. Right side Teagan Cooling Teagan Cooling 6'1" | RS Leigh | 2026 State CA provides some serious heat from her attacks and helps spread the attack out so that opponents don’t overload to the left side. She does a solid job of swing blocking with her middles and always sets the block well on the pins. The one thing you can count on with this squad is that they will not back down from any fight and will keep on getting back up if they get knocked down. I loved watching their resiliency against open level competition.
