Kroth had a huge high school season for DePaul College Prep.  Her arm swing is just different where she has a heavy swing, causing chaos on the other side of the net.  She will back at it for 1st Alliance 16 Gold this upcoming club season where she will be looking to score points for this team who was an open qualifier in 2024.  The key for this team as 15s was balance and will once again be the same story in 2025.  Kroth will be one the other side needs to be aware of at all times. 

Kalia Kroth Kalia Kroth 5'9" | OH/DS/L DePaul College Prep | 2027 State #98 Nation IL packs a big punch on the outside for 1st Alliance and De Paul College Prep.  What impresses me most about Kroth is her footwork on the outside.  She is fast to the ball, where she manages to get her feet to the ball no matter what the tempo brings.  Her arm swing is violent where she is looking to create action, causing chaos on the other side of the net.  She is a lethal six rotation player who the defense always needs to know where she is.  She is coming off a ten kill performance against Providence Catholic where she is utilized all over the front row on various routes and just finds a way to get it done. 

Kalia Kroth Kalia Kroth 5'9" | OH/DS/L DePaul College Prep | 2027 State #98 Nation IL is a rising sophomore and one to watch out of the Class of 2027.  She had a huge club season for 1st Alliance 15 Gold where they were among the best in the country at the 15 Open level. She will be looking to build off of a big freshman campaign at De Paul College Prep where she was a starting six rotation outside as a freshman.  They advanced to the sectional semifinals before dropping a match against St. Ignatius.  Kroth is so explosive when she attacks.  She can hit a quick tempo to the pin and is also a lethal backrow attacker.  When she gets in gear, she is really tough to stop and has a huge impact on every part of the game. 

My notes on Kalia from the Gauntlet were, “She absolutely flies.” And it is so true. Kalia is a 6-rotation outside, and her setters will find her wherever she is. She has an explosive approach, massive vertical, and a keen eye for placing the ball well with power. She made a huge impact on every play for 1st Alliance, who won the 15s division of the Gauntlet.
