Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
When I play, I focus on what I can do to perform my responsibilities as a middle the best that I can. On offensive, I create smart plays by reading the defense and finding gaps. I am always talking whether it is communicating my teammates what I see on the other side of the net, pulling the defense to isolate my pin hitters, or celebrating with my team.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I find that I am most successful when I have a strong working relationship with my teachers, coaches and peers. I believe that I am agreeable, empathetic, friendly and cooperative. Finally, I continuously root for the people around me because I am confident in myself and strongly believe that others' wins are not my losses.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in clubs through my school such as Best Buddies, Spanish Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Also, I am a volunteer coach in the John Long Middle School volleyball program. In addition, I have contributed 5 summers volunteering as a Vacation Bible School counselor at Grace Church in Grafton Wisconsin. I have made the honor roll since 6th grade.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
In addition to volleyball, I have played on multiple travel and club basketball teams. Through this I was taught to be resilient, meet new people, and learned the value of teamwork. Being the oldest child of three and an extremely busy nanny/babysitter, I have developed responsibility.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
At 14 years old I was diagnosed with POTS. I had fainting episodes, struggled to walk, and had to spend time at Children's Hospital. Not only did I struggle physically, but mentally because I was missing out on sports, school, etc. One of the goals I set for myself was getting better in order to play at GJNC in Chicago that summer. Through my parents and doctors help, I met that goal!
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that has a strong family feel. I do not want to be just a number and prefer to attend a college where I can form meaningful relationship with my professors, classmates and my team if I have the opportunity to play in college.
