Never having been 6'4, I can imagine that it is not easy to know exactly what you want your body to do, only for it to seem delayed. The once dangly athlete is no more. [player_tooltip player_id='772628' first='Kapri' last='Garnett'] has found the coordination needed to dominate at the net. She connects on top of the ball and over the block with ease. She puts up a solid block and now knows how to measure her length on the press. Her approach looks smooth, and her connection looks solid. I am sure June 15th can't come soon enough for college coaches itching to make a case for why Miss Garnett should consider their roster. Her footwork was just off from being under the ball, and her release was a tad bit delayed. What I saw this weekend was an athlete who is connecting on all fronts. Her footwork to get under the pass was disciplined. She held on defense and was quick enough to get completely under the ball. When the ball was hit to her, she played with a disciplined platform, getting the ball perfectly to her libero to take the second ball. When setting, she has finessed a quick-release flick of her wrists which delivered a consistent flawless ball. Her two-hand dump over the net is calculated and not sloppy. She has a great connection with her middle and delivers the ball to the correct zones on the net. Rebecca has improved tremendously since I first observed her, and I am excited to see what kind of collegiate attention she receives. She consistently snaps on top of the ball and follows the correct path on her hits. She plays with a high IQ, precisely choosing when to swing and when to tip. Madyson demonstrates the ability to turn her hips and go for the line mid-air. When she's not putting the ball away on offense, she's shutting down hitters with her block. Since the first time I saw her play, Madyson's overall game has improved drastically. She brings fire, energy, and is always ready to go.
