About Delaney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

The only gameplay style I know is effort. If you aren't hustling after every ball, diving across the floor if need be, being the loudest in the gym, then we aren't speaking the same language. I like knowing at the end of a game or practice that I gave every ounce of effort I had left in my soul, it makes me proud of myself and makes sure my teammates know I got their backs.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I say with a proud smile I am a bit crazy. Anything to make others smile. Whether that be on the court and jumping up and down because my teammate got a kill or hyping up a friend for a test, I will do whatever I can to make people smile. My mentality aligns with going with what makes your heart happy and passionate, life is too short to not do what makes you happy.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of volleyball, I try hard to follow my dreams. Due to my goals in life, I find things like the Aviation Club, Red Cross Club, AF Legacy, Aim High Flight Academy, and PCEP's STEM academy, to further my knowledge of the things I am passionate about.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Everyone has faced challenges in some way, shape, or form. For me it could be from when my dad was deployed in Iraq, or when I moved to Michigan, or getting into flight school. All of those were challenges that I didn't have to overcome just physically, but mentally, and you have to do both to push past.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges with strong Aerospace engineering and ROTC programs. I plan on getting an aerospace engineering degree and then joining the Air Force as a fighter and/or Test pilot. I do look to see if the campus is tight-knit and has a good community since I find it important to be surrounded by good people who have similar respect for your interests as you do for theirs.
