How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am often described as an ecstatic and outgoing player how thrives on hustle and desire. I see myself as a play maker, helping my teammates up to success throughout a game. I pride myself on being the loud energy and nonstop intensity when I hit the court - not just in my voice but in my presence. I try to be that consistent player every team needs, ensuring my teammates trust me to do my job.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a player who always strives for more while embodying the libero position by rooting my mentality in consistency and leadership - especially in the back row. I view my job as being a playmaker through leading my team to success and firing them up every swing, serve, or set. I bring nonstop focus, positivity, and accountability to the court. I pride myself in being the hardest worker.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Science Club, Asian American Club

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I live by the culture of excellence and greatness both in my day to life and volleyball. I've developed the mentality that values the work just as much as the result - showing up, staying accountable,attention to detail. I embrace a leadership role through excellence and example hoping to cultivate a team congruency and culture that I know must start with me first; knowing my role and standards.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Being a Filipino - American in a predominately white sport I’ve had the challenge of dealing with racial backlash with no support system from coaches, athletic directors or other parents. The lack of awareness of racism in youth sports is something the media doesn’t cover enough. The unrepeatable words that I’ve had thrown onto my name is an experience no one should go through.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has visible team chemistry on and off the court; One that values a standard and culture of excellence and greatness. I want to find a program that views volleyball as a vehicle of personal growth, a leadership role and connection. I strive for an environment of fun and legacy of energy and purpose through its high level of play.
