About Emersyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a dedicated and passionate libero with extensive experience playing for both my varsity high school team and a national-level club team. My exceptional agility, quick reflexes, and precise passes, have become an invaluable asset on the court. I have a keen court awareness and leadership skills to anticipate opponents' plays and orchestrate a strong defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Beyond regular season play, I immerses myself in the sport year-round, participating in volleyball camps and clinics across the western United States to continually hone my skills. I’m driven and competitive, all the while committed to personal growth and team success, with a true love for volleyball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in student leadership at my high school, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes club, and a member of Block D- a varsity sports community group. I volunteer in my community every month and have been a recipient of the Me for Incredible Youth Award for three years as well as selected as student of the month in September 2023.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My involvement in student leadership, the National Honor Society, and the Block D has helped me develop strong leadership and teamwork skills. I volunteer in my community by tutoring younger students, supporting developing players at camps, and helping with various community events. I believe all of this reflects my commitment to community service and excellence.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Just after my fourth birthday, I was diagnosed with leukemia. I went through 27 months of chemo with multiple surgeries and many hospital stays. I have been blessed to have been cleared, but overcoming this giant obstacle in my early life is part of what has made me such a strong and determined individual. I live life to the fullest and find joy in the little things because life is precious.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will give me a wonderful academic experience and provide me with an opportunity to continue playing volleyball at the next level. I want to school that builds community and supports their students, while challenging them. I love the water and the mountains so I’m looking for a school that will give me the opportunity to get outdoors as well.
