About Mikayla

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very positive person that's tries to cheer on my teammates and perform my best. I also try not to let one mistake get to my head and I shake it off and get the next one.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in a med-sci program at my school and have got honors rewards for straight A's.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned a lot from my coaches so far on teamwork and leadership and try to be the best teammate I can be. For community service I got an amazing opportunity to be a coach for a camp for all ages including 11s through freshman in high school.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've been told by people that I'm not good enough so I've worked extremely hard to always do my best and never give up

Mikayla Lang Mikayla Lang Mikayla Lang 5'8" | OH Trabuco Hills | 2026 CA , an outside hitter who also plays opposite for Trabuco Hills High School, focuses on keeping her teammates motivated and energized so they can push through challenges together. She plays with a clear head, enjoying the moment and refusing to let mistakes take her out of the game. Her goal is to keep the team connected and confident from first serve to match point.

This year, Mikayla has been working on out-of-system hitting and continuing to improve her passing, knowing that strong ball control is essential at every level. “You can never be perfect no matter how much you practice, but you can limit mistakes and keep getting better,” she said. Positive and team-oriented, she values the friendships and relationships she has built through volleyball, including those with past coaches she still connects with at tournaments. A career highlight was winning the 18-1 SCVA Championship without losing a single set, and she is ready to carry that success and momentum into her upcoming high school season. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247
