Sophia is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Florida State Rankings but that is only because they have not been released for her state yet. She plays volleyball for Seacrest Country Day High School and also plays club for the Florida Gulfside volleyball program. Miss Baron stood out for many reasons at the showcase but the number one aspect that caught my eye was her explosiveness. I walked by her court at one point during the evening right as she was rising up to swing and the boom that I heard from her hand contact made me stay a while. She does such a great job in loading up during her last two steps of her approach in order to create tons of momentum to increase her vertical. What also stood out is how she uses her entire body to add some extra pop into the swing. Like a hammer dropping down onto the ball, she really explodes downward into the ball when she makes contact. This explosiveness made us move her to an older court and she continued to make waves during the scrimmages. Please help us congratulate her on earning the Top Performer award at the showcase.
