About Lily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm an athletic, and dynamic all-around pin hitter with great gameplay IQ and leadership skills. I provide smart attacking, solid foundational defense, and key serving behind the serving line. I'm loyal and committed to my team. I’m very coachable, and always looking for feedback for growth and ways to improve.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm an extremely dedicated and hardworking player with a huge focus on growth and learning. My positive attitude and leadership qualities help to support my team on and off the court. I'm an introverted extravert - quiet and reserved outside of volleyball, but a strong communicator and presence on the court. I love my sport with my entire soul and I'm grateful every day I get to spend in the gym.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Community service is a extremely important to me! I love to give back to my community and volunteer any chance I can. Each year I volunteer •At a local elementary 2nd grade classroom •Columbus Buddy Walk to help support the Down Syndrome Association •Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention and Awareness •Volleyball Youth Clinics/Camps at Mintonette & Pickerington Central High School

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The most significant challenge I have is my height for my position. As an outside hitter, I have had to work hard to increase my strength and vertical to over compensate for my shorter frame. As a 6 rotation outside hitter, I have also had to work hard to be just as good as a defensive player as an offensive player. I train countless hours outside of normal practices to continuously improve.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would love to play for a NCAA Division I program that focuses on academic excellence, and one that offers a competitive and positive volleyball environment.

Foster will compete with Mintonette m.62, joining Jones to provide a solid attacking duo this club season. Count on her to once again be a key offensive threat on the left pin. She had a solid club season last year and is coming off a high school effort for Pickerington Central in which she averaged 2.0 k/s and 6.3 d/m. At 5’9, she is a fluid attacker in her approach work. One of the best assets to her offense is the speed of her arm in the air, which can be effectively terminal in how she controls her arm and contact.
