<p>We spent a little time talking about the schools moving into or out of class 3A, so let's use the next few articles about other teams in 3A Here are two annual contenders that have a bunch of athletes returning, and what impact they might have this fall.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Angola (32-5)</h2>

<p>Yes, the Hornets lose PD #1 and Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 member <strong>Morgan Gaerte.</strong> True, <strong>Mya Ball</strong>'s absence will DEFINITELY be felt this fall as well. But that doesn't mean the '24 version won't get 20+ wins. They still have the setter who got them there in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='172318' first='Ava' last='Harris'],</strong> who's committed to Villanova. <strong>Anna McClure</strong> is still the #1 option at libero, so serve receive and floor defense have their captain. High-flying attacker <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='237882' first='Maya' last='Harris']</strong> also returns. Her lethality behind the baseline and attacking prowess will be much needed. She should see the great majority of the offensive load. <strong>Bailey Holman</strong> is a solid M2 for the Hornets, and also returns varsity experience. Most of the pieces are there. The question remains: where will the rest of the offense come from?</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">NorthWood (32-5)</h2>

<p>NorthWood has had quite a few years of volleyball success with its fair share of athletes. Here are the obvious ones to mention: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='192110' first='Claire' last='Payne']</strong> (Appalachian State commit) has the size and skill to make a difference in the middle. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='161657' first='Sophia' last='Barber']</strong> (Wheeling commit) is an athletic pin attacker that will see a ton of sets come her way simply out of necessity. <strong>Anna Roeder</strong> is a multi-sport athLETE (track) and will bring a dynamic element to the fray. But, like Angola above, they're going to need more than three athletic volleyball players if they wish to make another deep run in October. </p>
