Bailey Gonzalez Bailey Gonzalez 5'9" | S Barbers Hill | 2028 TX is a Class of 2028 setter and multi-position player from Barbers Hill High School and XCEL Volleyball Club. Standing at 5’9″ with the positional versatility to play setter, opposite, and outside hitter within the same competition setting, she gives any system a flexibility that is genuinely rare to find at this stage of development. The volleyball IQ it takes to understand the game from multiple positions simultaneously is not something that can be manufactured, and the fact that she has developed those skills at a club program with coaches who have played and coached at the college level tells you the training environment is accelerating her growth in the right direction. This young lady can flat out ball and she shows it with every match she plays in. Her hands are very soft and produce repeatable sets that just float out of her release so effortlessly. Gonzalez will be with the Xcel VB 151 Adidas team that will compete in the event’s 15 Open division. She’s a reliable playmaker, who does an excellent job with her distribution and consistently puts her hitters in a good position to score. Gonzalez’s setting is very smooth and she’s very good at quickly getting to the ball in transition plays, which further increases her accuracy. Standing at 5’9″, she’s capable of offering a strong blocking presence to her team, but is also very active and productive on the backcourt, generating numerous digs at the right back position.
